    Actually, that's TIHKAL, not PIHKAL. It's the introduction to appendix B (page 592).

    I think that the music industry is booming in part because of "pirated" music. Honestly, I've purchased a couple hundred dollars worth of CD's because I really like the MP3s that I've downloaded and I can say that a number of my friends have too.

    Yeah, I've bought several CDs after listening to MP3s.. Even my girlfriend has bought CDs after listening to the MP3s I've downloaded.. :)

    You can find a bunch of these at ebay. it seems that you'll end up paying a little over $300.

    Somehow, I doubt you'll get them at $300 now that everyone who's selling them are being /.'ed.. ;)

    Here's the patent. It was filed oct. 26 1995, and issued jan. 21, 1997.
    If you read the claims, you'll see that this is a very good description of the grafitti language.

    If I had a radio which forced a station on me, I'd probably rip it out and put an old-fashioned radio in its place.

    I don't think there are many radios which forces you to use this system. On all the radios with RDS that I've seen, you can disable the RDS-system.

    Most JPEG compression routines will probably remove the watermark when compressing an image, so just save it as JPEG, and reload before printing.

    They probably need more powerful searches than that. Their patent for searching and sorting text describes a system for searching and sorting "speech-based text, optical-character-read text, stop-word-filtered text, stutter-phrase-filtered text, and lexical-collocation-filtered text," according to claim #2.

    You can't take books home from the library without telling them who you are, or else they wouldn't be able to contact you if you don't return the books.. But you can read anything you want in the library without anyone knowing who you are, or what you've read, as long as you don't take away the books.
    On the web, the server still keeps the original file when you read it, so you have to return it like in the library.

    The specs says that the key travel is 3 mm, like on notebook computers, and I haven't seen any notebooks with 3 mm key travel on which the keys click..
    The keyboard is not available yet, but they hopefully get it out by xmas.
    I want one of those.. (and a Palm as well, of course.. ;)

Vicente Planelles seems to have two patents, US05639619 and US05721104, for testing anti-HIV drugs using VPR, but I couldn't find any for using VPR against cancer..

    I was at WoA, and I saw it there.. It looked more like metal and plastic than styrofoam.. But the only connector it had was a USB-port in the front..

    The pictures on that page are really bad.. Too bad I forgot to bring my camera to WoA.. I'm sure I could have gotten some much better pictures of it.. Anyone else here who was at WoA and got some pictures of it?
