I'm very skeptical that a short time playing a violent videogame would somehow change your attitude towards marijuana.

Seriously, I don't know where they get that B.S. from. The article merely says that people who played GTA had "more permissive attitudes toward using alcohol and marijuana." First of all, can you be any more vague, please? I want to know what questions they asked to discover this type of attitude change from individuals in the expirement. Of course, they neglected to put such information on the website. Second of all, what are they more permissive about? Are they more permissive about THEMSEVLES using drugs, or OTHERS using drugs, or looking at drugs, or throwing drugs at puppies and kittens, etc?

Until I see a proper expirement done with more detailed results, I will call bullshit on such reports.

After years of controversy, 71 percent of Americans now say they think global warming is real."

I really wish that this meant that Americans actually care about global warming, but think about this for a second. What is our voter turnout rate? Less than 50% right? However, just about everyone has an opinion about the gov't. They want something done and they bitch about it, but they never actually DO anything about it. Sure, maybe we can get most Americans to turn down their thermostat 2 degrees. But what if they had to give up their precious SUV's? Just because people say they are willing to make sacrifices doesn't mean they will.

But because of this, I couldn't agree more that the government needs to change it's policies.

I just bought Metroid Prime Hunters last week, the gameplay is amazing. It feels so much like a PC fps. My main problem is after about 20 minutes of playing, my left hand gets tired from supporting the DS on it's own, and my right hand cramps up from holding the little stylus. It's exciting to hear that Nintendo is adjusting the weight and size of the DS. I can't wait to try one out. I might sell my DS and buy a DS lite if it addresses the issues I'm having.

I would suggest getting a school project that you enjoyed working on and do the exact same thing with an API that you want to learn. By doing this you can easily compare your new work to your school project to make sure everything is working as expected. You will also quickly learn the advantages and disadvantages of the tools you are using because you will have a 'control on your experiment' so to speak. You will be able to have a more informed opinion on which tool is better for certain situations.

I don't know if this is generally true, but my experience growing up was similar to what you theorize. Before grade school, some "professionals" were recommending to my parents that they put me in a special ed class and take the short yellow bus to school. Apparently, I had problems listening and communicating. They thought I had hearing problems because I often didn't respond when people talked to me. They did hearing tests on me and discovered no problem with my hearing. I also had some speech impediments. Thankfully, they decided to sit in one of the special ed classes and saw how all the other kids acted. There was no way in hell they were gonna leave me alone with those kids. I ended up being held back a year in kindergarten. I had some small issues with writing things in first grade. By the time I reached 3rd grade, my reading level was higher than most kids. By 6th grade, I had a 12th grade reading level, and I placed the highest in this standardized math test at my middle school. I skipped a grade in math starting at 8th grade. I did attain a sort of perfectionist attitude where I would get mad at myself at making mistakes, and I never really considered myself intelligent (maybe just less stupid).

Ahh man, I loved that episode. But I'm pretty sure the cockroach crawling over the camera wasn't an accident. First of all, it wasn't crawling over the camera. If I remember correctly, the back of the cockroach was facing towards the viewer. They made it look like a cockroach was actually on your TV screen. It actually fooled my mom! My guess is that it was a prank similar to what we saw Jim Carrey do in "The man on the moon" (I forget the comedians name who did it in real life, as I was too young) in which he made the broadcast fuzzy on purpose so people would try adjust their TV's it even though there was nothing wrong.
