well, no one would be bashing him if he stuck to writing Star Wars crap, but this is DUNE we're talking about here. Show the book some fucking respect rather than just milking a franchise for cash.
Shameless fuckers should try doing something NEW for a living.
I must sayat this point that the USA WAS ACTUALLY invented before the motor car. I still don't understand Jaywalking - does it make it legal to run someone over? What the hell is the point of this law?
of course she is, but - IMHO - the image of our copany is better served by producing better quality work, and to do that we need to invest money strategically. I just think it's putting the cart before the horse (and I still haven't got over the #7500 they wasted on the plasma screen, either).
I had a 386DX (66!) with a turbo switch, as far as I knew, the turbo switch was there for reasons of compatibility with the XT standard, which specified a clock speed substantially lower than my roaring fast 386. Certainly, if you unclicked the turbo button the world went into reverse. Word Perfect and Flashback could be mightily slow with no turb-o.
I'm not karma whoring, just bored and stuck in front of a computer. Surfing porn could lose me my job, so I'll stick with replying to every comment on this story until some work rolls in.
funnily enough, we ALL have Aeron chairs here as our old accountant had a friend in the furniture business and we got them for £300 each. They're pretty good chairs, to be sure, but I think the money could probably have been better spent nonetheless.
tell me about it. Our RECEPTIONIST just got an 18.1 inch Sony flat panel (costing easily over £1000) while the graphics dept. are still using horrid 17inch no-name uncalibrated CRTs, the total value of ALL of which is less than the cost of the reception monitor...
quite simply it's rarity. If all of the SX-64s in existence get dremeled to death by snot-nosed kids trying to install a window kit (whatever the fuck the point of a window in a computer is) than another - albeit small - piece of computer history will disappear. Shame on this fucker - he could have just got himself an old PII 266 x86 laptop for the same kind of money and had a perfectly fine C=64 emu running on that.
"I think Apple is trying to avoid the fiasco it had with the Sawtooth (1st gen) G4s where they just slapped a G4 onto a G3 mobo."
that wasn't the "Sawtooth", but rather the "Yikes!" machine. And the fiasco was entirely due to Motorola not supplying Apple with the number of chips at the speeds that they'd promised. The "Yikes!" machine wasn't bad, it actually had better PCI bandwidth than the later "Sawtooth"...
that's great! where can I buy one?

Sweden had a well known and long running policy of eugenics (gulp!). Did you think they were all tall, blond and good looking by ACCIDENT?
DISCLAIMER: I've been to Sweden and I loved the forests, people (women!) fishing, sailing, food... everything really.
just find the bank of the nearest canal
and walk straight ahead
...and then sacked the new accountant he hired because she complained that the accounts were a total shambles...
Neil Kinnock gets paid 3x as much as Tony Blair!
I'm no Blairite, but some mistake there, surely?
it scrolled about as much as Impossible Mission did...

"Every cpu running full boar all the time"
what the hell have pigs got to do with it?
It's just you. I carry several small rectangles of plastic in my wallet each of which has an effective value (to me) of over $5000.

yeah, buying mail order's a real chore. I mean, apart from saving a ton of cash, you get a bigger choice too! What a drag.

surely that should be:-
a little editing of the stories wouldn't HURT

a free Gig you say? Who's playing, and which switches do I have to push?
Mghz?? What's that, Magnesium cycles?
so are you going to be upgrading to this THREE POINT O SIX MILLIHERTZ processor then?

the latest PowerMacs actually use a 167Mhz FSB, but that's still WAY too slow
yeah, sure
coz FOUR PPC 970s will be virtually free, won't they? It's not as if these chips ae gonna cost $500 each or anything...
