I kind of agree - but nearly the whole charm of Star Wars is Harrison Ford, he carries it on into Empire, but has no dialogue worthy of his character in Return. The Star Wars trilogy could REALLY have used some decent script editors to give the characters some decent dialogue.
Talk sense, man. Only Empire is a remotely decent movie - Star Wars was novel but crappy, Empire was good, Return was a big budget, low-brow remake of Star Wars with any charm sucked out of the script and fucking Ewoks.
Face it - the Star Wars series has been almost entirely crap with Empire stuck in the middle putting a rosy glow on the first movie and allowing us all to hope that any sequel might be as good, though none of them ever have been.
You haven't noticed the way the wind is blowing yet, have you? These same fuckers are trying their damndest to button up any new piece of technology - shit, they're even trying to reverse-fuck the humble audio-CD. I wouldn't put it past them to stick a smartcard reader in the HD-DVD spec, and require it for playback so you can't even lend a disc to a friend.
Who cares what you - a mere consumer - thinks? If the DVD Forum wants dial-up authentication, then that's what they'll get, whether it's a good idea or no.
Who is it that American sare supporting financially (Israelis excepted)? Last time I looked the USA was MASSIVELY in debt to the rest of the world and has an ENORMOUS ongoing balance of trade defecit. Just about the only thing the USA has in its favour as a hyperpower is that China is MUCH nastier.
It's obvious to me now - we could cut the amount of in our inboxes by 60% by simply disconnecting the USA from the internet! So much like in sport, mobile telephony and many other areas of life, the USA can play with itself while the rest of the world plays with each other.
So no more spam about discount rate mortgages, cable descramblers and "meds" that are entirely US specific for us clean living, intelligent and hugely sexy Europeans to wade through each morning.
Come to think of it, maybe we should cut off Korea too.
Apparently there's a wide range of information available on there somewhere
Must be awful to get stiffed by the BBC, in the UK we can';t get enough continental TV - all my friends watch it, too
If you don't like British TV, stop stealing it. If you DO like it - why not get yourself some sat gear and get watching. Seems to me that complaining about it on Slashdot is just about the only thing that WON'T help you out.
This observant Sky subscriber seems rather more aware than you that the Astra Satellites are in SPACE, and that there are a great many people outside the UK who buy themselves a Sky receiver in the UK and then use it abroad.
Digital channels more than make it across the channel numb nuts, the do a whole 72000km journey before being watched even in the UK.
He doesn't even need THAT, as all Macs come supplied with one...
Our hero, Luke Skywalker, is a complete disaster. Blame either poor dialogue or poor acting, but Luke nearly sinks the whole film.
"You don't deserve to live in a world where a movie like Star Wars gets released."
Oooooooh!

you KNOW it was MS who did THAT
They're no longer struggling with Windows, like 99% of the world's organisations.
And they'll be pissing themselves laughing next time a big virus hits.
"ungrateful ingrates?"
Does that mean they ARE grateful?

Haven't you checked out BMW and Mercs recent radar cruise controllers? BMW one is especially snazzy.
Are you suggesting that the landmass that Europeans live on was somehow created by homo habilis?
I'm not aware of any evidence to back up such an extraordinary idea, please share yours!
Does it therefore follow that the USA leads the world in small penis technology?
Do Americans have tiny cocks or do they just BELIEVE that they do...
(Answer, they're so fat that they just GUESS that their cocks are tiny. They are tiny in fact, but they don't know that for sure)
...and with no European immigrants there'd be no USA. What was your point?

Are you ABSOLUTELY SURE about that?
Does Johnny Lunchpail really have a clue what is pre-installed on his $499 WinXP beige-o-rama?
:-] Nearly.
Seriously dude, where's my data?
or
Dude, where's my freedom of choice?
Is "troll" supposed to be some kind of insult?
It'll be an Olympic sport before you know it.
