Hang on a minute, this thing is desinged for IN-CAR use, right? So if you're sitting in a bumper-to-bumper traffic jam on the M25 I reckon there could be a good 100-odd people around you very likely trying to,listen to THEIR favourite radio station and getting your shite instead.
If I lived near you and you interfered with my radio listening I'd be tempted to shine some 2KW spot lights through your bedroom window while your were trying to sleep/watch TV. At least the visible part of the EM spectrum isn't licensed.
"...someone from their department of silly walks and radios showed up to talk to us about it."
I can't believe I'm reading this crap!
What's so stupid about licensing the use of your EM spectrum and then making sure that those who've PAID FOR bandwidth can actually use it without fear of interference from unlicensed transmissions? There are portions of the spectrum specifically allocated to unlicensed transmitters, use those if you want but stop fucking up all the other thousands of services that depend on spectrum management to do business.
It's thanks to thoughtless twats like you that FM radio reception is getting progressively more fucked up for everyone else in the UK. I used to live in London W1 and at the weekend it was almost impossible to listen to the radio because of all the sub-human pirate arseholes.
In the UK dental care ceased to be available on a strict "free at the point of delivery" basis around a decade ago and in that time many poor families have stopped visiting the dentist completely. Most poorer people would FAR rather spend money on cigarettes, lottery scratchcards and alcohol for themselves than on dental care for their children.
It is a democratic government's DUTY to protect idiots from themselves when their behaviour has ramifications for the whole of society.
I completely agree - the strange thing is WHY people put up with crappy service when there are plenty of other service providers out there. I used to be on Cellnet 'til they started fucking me around - so I switched to Orange and have had great service ever since - I also have a Vodafone SIM that i use sometimes when I need GSM 900 and I've never had a problem there either. Barclays bank fucked me around so I switched to smile, BT fucked me around so I switched to NTL, McDonalds is crap so I switched to Pret a Manger etc etc etc
Mind you, I'm no long term B7 fan, I merely saw it recently on UK Gold (I lived in the USA when it was on TV in Britain) and enjoyed it despite myself. Certainly some of the highest camp ever committed to videotape, but some great stuff in there too. For the record, I think Star Trek is MOSTLY awful, though I enjoyed 'Tholian Web' and several of the Voyagers that I've seen on Sky.
None of it is science fiction anyway, so it's all a bit trivial really.
"Hell, the default configruation of the Dell system with the 3Ghz P4 is 512MB of DDR - the high-end PowerMac (which they undoubtibly used) has 1GB."
What are you talking about? The default config for the dual 2Ghz PowerMac G5 comes with 2 x 256MB PC 3200 RAM.
Why not listen to CDs or, even better, buy a new car stereo that can DO WHAT YOU FUCKING WANT?
Why the fuck is it someone else's problem how you arrange your in car entertainment? Spend some fucking money!

Are you implying that the iPod's headphone amp is suitable for driving the loudspeakers in your car?
Nope.

It DOES cause a problem, and the word is HERD.

Cheers numb nuts.
Nonsense.
Life isn't black and white, why should political doctrine be?
"Well, piss off. I'm not a number, I'm a free man, and I'm going to listen to my iPod with it cranked all the way up."
Brave words indeed, number 19506.
it's hoodlum
"This is just like those people who want to make it illeagal to eat fatty food, smoke, have sex, or drive a sports car."
Who - exactly - wants to make having sex illegal?
Apart from your boyfriend, I mean.
"The loudness of a device without builtin speakers is dependant on the size of the speakers its asked to drive!"
No it isn't, it's dependent on the EFFICIENCY of the 'speakers its asked to drive. Large 'speakers are often more efficient than smaller ones.
Nope, the loud music just wrecks your hearing.
Your brain must've been pre-fucked.
You clearly know absolutely nothing about it.

...yeah
but Apple SUPPLIES earphones with the iPod, so i think we can safely assume that it's the efficiency of those that we're talking about.

Yay!
Do I get credits for continuing education?
You learn something new every day - and that was it for me.
I thought the P800 WAS a Series 60 Symbian 'phone? Just proves how little I know about the P800...
Switch to a decent service provider, then.
O2 = BT = Bunch of useless Twats
I'm sure Vodafone would love your business, as would Orange, T-Mobile and 3.
Looks like I can't do an "approximately equal to" character then...
Doesn't compare all that well to a 100g Palm and/or cellphone now, does it?
My Palm Tungsten T2 ? 100g; my Nokia 8910 ? 100g.
I must admit, that looks absolutely horrendous.

Imagine for a moment what it's like if you DON'T live in the USA.
Short bus? Bus buddie? What on Earth are you on about?
Way to mod yourself up, I'm sure everyone's really impressed with your +2 rating.
