That's an amazing coincidence, because the question
I was just asking myself was why aren't any Nobel prizes
ever awarded to comments in online forums?
I know this will seem trollish, but I don't see what in the images was worth worrying about. Aren't they just several bubbles put together? All the "coolness" of the image seems to be what the drawing program took care of, like the gradients for the spheres and their shininess. It seems more like the hard work and talent belonged to the drawing-program developers.
Yeah, let's make all the security systems the same so that it's more convenient - not only for the sysadmin, but for those trying to attack the system...
I really like that game. Except it gets too easy after you figure it out. Never fight the cops or bother with guns. Deal only with cocaine and herion once you have enough money. Buy as many bitches as possible. Put any extra money (more than you need to fill up on cocaine) in the bank so it collects interest. The last time I played it, I'd amassed quadrillions of dollars then quit from boredom.
Does mozilla have something like DCOP? I read an article recently on using DCOP with KDE and it seemed really cool.
Now I want everything to have DCOP.:)
Why is it that everywhere people can take pictures of me but I can't take pictures of anything? If I take a picture of a bridge I'm a terrorist. If I take a picture in a movie theater I'm a pirate. But I can be filmed all throughout the mall and/or cinema which I walk through to watch the movie.
I don't think it means the most installs. For example, if MySQL had scantily-clad babes advertising it, then it could be really popular even if it wasn't installed a lot.
There's not really any point in a widescale distributed email delivery system OTHER than delivering spam that I can think of...
And nobody needs more than 640kb of RAM, and all the important science has been done already, and because I can't think of anything lets outlaw any new laws of nature.
That looks like a long, boring ride from the picture.
I don't imagine the radio reception is very good
there either. Actually, look at the picture makes
me feel sad for some reason.
Once that grass spreads beyond the golf courses and invades the yards of peoples' homes, how are they supposed to kill it without killing their own grass.
I know, who wants their lawn to look like a golf course.
Wait a minute...
I was tired of keeping my notes in a giant text file though. It was growing to about 1mb and was difficult to deal with.
Did you consider something like, oh, I dunno, separating your notes out into separate files? And when you get ready to go even further outside your comfort zone, try putting the files into separate directories.
Hey, if it sells, go for it. Pornographic stuff, hey, even child porn or beastiality, I don't have a particular ethical problem with some publisher running out and doing what they want, because I still get to choose what I look at.
You don't have an ethical problem with child porn?
Because you get to choose what you look at?
You self-centered piece of shit.
I don't know why that comment was marked insightful,
as hardcoding the snailmail address to the IP address
just seems like bad practice.
If I buy several domains, and I have a hosting provider who
feels like hosting some in the Arctic and Antarctica
during the summer, why should the addresses have to be
kept in sync when the machines are moved back to Vanuatu
during the winter?
What I was referring to was that the message
"WE WILL HUNT YOU DOWN" implies them hunting
Microsoft. Hunting. Searching for. I get annoyed
by people repeating phrases that they think sound
cool but don't apparently understand what they mean.
But that's what people do, I guess. Maybe that's
about all we do.

I also posted a review on Perl Monks when the book came out. It still isn't in his list of reviews, though. :/

I'm not sure what this has to do with 12 years of actual work experience.

I don't care about your arguable points, and besides you have no character to attack.
I take it from the 'Flamebait' moderation that you people actually trust mathematicians? I trust them about as far as I could throw a philosopher.
ITYM Natalie Portman, no?
Can we trust the mathematicians ?
Uhhuhuhuhhuuhhuhuhuhhuh, uhhuuhuhuhuhuhuhhhuuhuhuhhuhuhuhuhuhhuh, he said "coming".
Maybe it's Dan who's actually the tortoise...
We're already seeing quantum computing, as this story is in two places simulataneously. Remember, you saw it here first, and second, on Slashdot.
or "seeing as it's Slashdot... I guess I won't".
