    Two things:
    1) Why on earth would someone take the time to develop ransomware on "desktop" Linux?
    2) Anyone running a Linux desktop with a 10 year old version of their OS (like XP) is likely just as open to attack.

  5. Here in Florida, my kid's schools have had plenty of racial diversity. What they lack is men. Growing up some of my favorite teachers were guys, but now there seem to be almost no male teachers.

    ...coding ISN'T cool. It can be fun, rewarding, and it can pay the bills, but there is very little that is cool about programming. If you have a group of people picking their future careers simply using the "is it cool" filter, then you can except to get very few programmers out of that group.

    Completely agree... I'm 37 and I've pretty much always had a watch on my wrist. And both of my kids (6 and 3) have watches that THEY asked for. Don't know, it seems like a (stupid) non-issue to me.

    I truly think a large part of the issue here is that "Blu-Ray" is a horrible HORRIBLE name. The name HD-DVD is alliterative and logical. HD-DVD "sounds" like the logical upgrade to the DVD, while "Blu-Ray" sounds like a Star Wars weapon.

    My guess (based on some other articles a few months back) is that they are illegal due to a lack of GAS TAX REVENUE. Think about it, a large percentage of our road infrastructure is paid for by gasoline taxes. If cars don't require gas, where is the money to fix the roads coming from?
