Slashdot has too many people voting Democrat as it is. You don't like the SSSCA? The guy pushing it is a Democrat. The main opposition to the SSSCA is Republican. This was just on newsforge a little bit ago, it read "House Republicans Cool to SSSCA".
Fortunatly, the Republicans control the house, so the SSSCA will never be voted on in the perverted senate.
I haven't experienced the whole internet (duh), so I should have said in my experience. Usually however, the winner with a better connection isn't the best player.
I out fragged the winner of a DM 1 on 1 in Q3 (I fragged him, more than him me.) I still ended up in 3rd. When it takes 2 seconds for your gun to shoot, something's wrong, and I have a 200-300ms connection.
I'm therefore constricted to games which lag is not a disadvantage, RTS. I don't like Q3 anyway, but I do like UT.
The case started before Windows 98 was released, so I will not address windows 2000 or xp.
Windows 95 included internet explorer, but removal was simple, I know being a Netscape freak.
Windows 98 which is basically windows 95 with bug fixes and IE 4 thrown in, is backwords compatible to w95.
There's other people who do it. 98lite has done it, and so have others. Windows 98Se is much more stable when you replace IE4 with the windows 95 explorer.
In conclusion, I belive that Microsoft is more afraid their sales would be hampered, and their virtual internet monopoly destroyed should they loose. Microsoft lied in court and now they must go to the highest courts to be proven wrong by the 9 states. What kind of charges can they get for purgery?
Just because Microsoft rules the market, they get more sales so they help the government. Honestly, I belive that if Microsoft dissapeared, Computer sales wouldn't faulter for long. The credit goes to the american public who are willing to buy computers, not to Microsoft.
I have wierd music tastes, therefore it's hard for me to find my music genre on CDs. Perhaps if the RIAA was doing a better job of classifying things, I'd buy more cds.
I like Classical Music (i.e. Mozart, Beethoven, etc.). But when I go to Best Buy, what do I find in the "Classical" section? 80's classics, 90's rock, etc. Last time I checked, Mozart lived in the seventeen hundreds.
Can you write an email, and call someone at the same time? That way you'll see blonds driving down the road, talking on their phone, writing an email, and brushing their hair at the same time.
It is advisible to stay off the road until all of them wreck and the device is outlawed.
Sorry I'm a bit offtopic on this one... Java 2 isn't a Operating System. Java 2 is a programming language. Therefore for your comment to be correct, it should read "uses a java 2 Operating system."
What's so great about the Mac OS interface? The base is already out of date (freebsd 3.x), and OS X is just now getting the only mac flagship app (as Apple.com depicts in their benchmarks), Photoshop.
No, it probably wasn't apple's fault, but it's not our fault that Linux doesn't have all the other worthless office stuff. I'll outdo you on VI, Gimp, and Afterimage anyday.
It is a scam because they are not delivering on their offer, not because it's a bad deal. Scam: bad deal. You pay them to spaces in your inbox, you don't get what they promised.
No, they just didn't ship it:-)
Windows 2000 did have more bugs than any other windows release previous, and it was supposed to come out in 1999. Microsoft delayed it so it wasn't doa.
There is no perfect web design, and it would obviously differ for your type of site.
However, everyone but IE 3> and konqueror has javascript. Netscape 4.x> tend to render best with transitional html, as well as IE5>. Mozilla, netscape 6.x, IE 6, Opera 5 usually do well with a XHTML and CSS combination.
Your closest to perfect solution would be to use javascript to select a different page for Netscape 4> than Mozilla and Opera. Then be a MAN and just ignore IE;-)
Conclusion: Everthing would have worked out fine if M$ hadn't come along and messed it up, no surprise here.
I would have given that example, but for large businesses that's not usually an option. I jut think the California government is going to mess it all up. Recycling should NEVER cost money, if it's worth recycling, do it for free, or pay the people who send in the junk. If not, it will be eventually.
Your P3 1.2ghz probably didn't produce a lot more heat than your celeron 700 did in the first place. So, you underclocked it and it ran almost as cool.
If Intel were trying for this, they wouldn't be going all out for MHZ, and nothing for performance/clock cycle. Of course, the P4's get SO hot that they automatically go down to half speed if they get hot, and they still run too hot for a fan.
You should have got a Cyrix III, which run without fans at full clock speed, and come in models faster than 700mhz celerons.
We have companies like techdisposal.com who I take used equipment, and resell it. I'd MUCH rather have it done right, where the equipment doesn't cost anything to get rid of than make it a tax.
Call me a n00b, I've never played StarCraft, but I don't see that in other games, just interesting.
In the Age of Empires series, there are Civ advantages, which really make all the civs balanced. Of course there's a lot more than 4 civs in those games.
For Instance, if you are franks and I'm tutons, I'll win. But if I'm Tutons, and you're Myans, you'll probably win.
Maybe YOU couldn't say HELLO WORLD in C, but I'd bet that 80% of slashdot users can, or at least would vote they could in a/. poll.
OTOH, you can't even spell yeah.
BASIC is lame, obsolete, and Microsoft, and ASM is just obsolete.

Unless you loose :-)
Then again, you might have a fast connection and rule the game every time...
Why is it the guy with a 50ms ping is always the least skilled?
You might get better quality if you were sitting in their living room.
Don't worry about telling them they should be secure, only weird hackers could get in with a advanced password like "admin".
Just because Microsoft rules the market, they get more sales so they help the government. Honestly, I belive that if Microsoft dissapeared, Computer sales wouldn't faulter for long. The credit goes to the american public who are willing to buy computers, not to Microsoft.

You aren't active.
About a week ago, some kid stole Office X with his iPod. that's when I noticed it. I think it's mostly a mockery.
What's so great about the Mac OS interface? The base is already out of date (freebsd 3.x), and OS X is just now getting the only mac flagship app (as Apple.com depicts in their benchmarks), Photoshop.

It's not north america thats going to drive IPv6, it's Europe and Asia where they're already starting to feel the address squeeze.
Ask your dialup isp for a static IP account, and they might tell you about another company who will give it to you for $80/month.
Maybe you aren't, but I am definatly feeling the lack of addresses.
Macs aren't obsolete
Macs look cool
Macs aren't x86
No, I'm sure someone is going to post that, but when you get down to it, SGI machines are pretty 31337.
Sure SGIs look good, but they perform pretty well too.
It is a scam because they are not delivering on their offer, not because it's a bad deal. Scam: bad deal. You pay them to spaces in your inbox, you don't get what they promised.
If it's too good to be true, it probably is.
Unfortunatly, with 2 spams a day, we could question whether it was.
No, they just didn't ship it :-)

1) Try to license DRMOS from Microsoft, and MS refuses: your OS is history.
Legally it's history, but we also know that this is an illegal law. Any law which is unconstitutional is not a true law.
Fighting the SSSCA is a good idea, and we should, but don't stop using Linux or Mac OS just beacuse you think it's illegal.
... would we switch protocols from a set standard that works just fine, and not switch to a decent operating system?
So much for the "change isn't good" argument by M$.
Dan Berinstien is (literally) gay. His projects are generally unorganinzed, and have rediculous licenses.
I'd like to see someone else say there's a problem. Nonetheless, the smaller the key, the less secure, and the larger the key, the more secure.
This is not off topic.

Recycling should NEVER cost money, if it's worth recycling, do it for free, or pay the people who send in the junk. If not, it will be eventually.
Don't worry though, it's plenty profitable.
There's a problem in your idea.
