I just bought the HM903T (19", 2x VGA in, USB Hub, Speaker) and IMHO it is one of the best CRTs ever made.
OK, it is quite expensive, but for me a sharp monitor is more important than a CPU beeing 100HMz faster
Micha !
thinking about 22MBit Wireless Chips that are at least not currently supported, I don't see, why I should buy something like this if I can't use it using Linux,

I think UFS is under BSD-license, so it could not be reused as GPL. That should be the main point for not using UFS on Linux (but I am not too good at politics),
Micha !
I am using a S1300A from Asus and it is great. Thin and light, I don't need to carry my optical drive with me all the time and sold without Windows. The only negative point is that the ones sold in europe are only avaiable with pcmcia-wlan (no mini-pci modules avaiable, no internal antennas)
I like mine,
Micha !
Do you fully read the sourcecode downloaded before compiling and installing ?
I dont think this is because of dumb sysadmins, but because of the masses of code written, so noone can check everything he is really installing.
Micha !
Look at Star Office- Version 5.2 could be downloaded for free and version6 has to be paid for. I dont think they are going to show their sources, they are probably going the other way. The Release of Solaris for x86 is because the recognize that their hardware is too expensive for the desktop and they want to earn in that area, too.
No doubt Solaris (i just saw Sparc) is a graet OS for great hardware, able to do things, you can't do with Linux, but it simply is too expensive for the desktop.
- XNView- pictureviewer, similar to Irfan, but I like it better (www.xnview.com)
- Ultimatezip Fine *free* Zipprogram
- Fixklez (just in case)
Perhaps cathy (http://rvas.webzdarma.cz), a tool for acchiving directorystructures (if you want to show someone all the MP3s you have or so)
They are all free, but only avaiable as binaries.
Micha !
and some weeks ago they were all talking about abolishing strong cryptography...
Does that make any sense or is the plan to encourage strong government cryptography and to force all other users to transmit unencrypted- because evereyone out there could be a terrorist ?
I dont understand it- do you ?
Micha !!!
I think it will be possible to do things like playing PSX via bleem, installing Linux and so on on a XBOX. It is a PC, nothing else- and there sure are many guys trying to to so because of the Label Microsoft.
It is more fun to install Linux on a MS-Product than on a Dreamcast. It is also easier because it is just a normal PC- perhaps a little bit more expensive;-)
I sure think this can be useful.
Think of the masses of people beeing too poor to buy a whole computer- as in the Non Developed Countries. This box is cheaper than any computer could be. They could also maintain it themselves- without paying for licenses to MS.
And if it is simple, it could also be used by older people not willing to learn how to use a computer anymore.
I think we need cheap and simple computers, thats why I think it could be usable.
Micha !

Wasn't there a trojan in sendmail, too ?

The Support for 32Bit Sparc will be avaiable in Solaris 9, but probably not in the next release.

You are just selling white bread ? Are you a little bit racist :-)
Micha !
...with 11 harddrives. Íve never seen such a box, but I guess it would be quite loud.
So it is no replacement for a good old CD player.
