    Only if you use 8 bit colors. And gifs support 24bit images, you just need to split the image in 256 color chunks and change palette for each animation frame showing each chunk, eg. https://i.stack.imgur.com/GjMP...

    The spirit of GPL is to allow the user to do anything, Amazon in this case is the user.

    This is one reason I don't like to contribute to FOSS projects that required transferring copyrights, I prefer my code to stay GPL thank you very much.

    I think they are just not happy that someone else might be making more from their product. As long as they can keep paying a reasonable number of developers to work on the project, things should be just fine, they company doesn't have to keep growing or maximise profits.

    You don't have to do anything, unless you update your MongoDB, the old AGPL license is still valid, you just need to write your own security fixes etc.

    But if MongoDB is forked, those new commits to the forked version are under AGPLv3 and there wont be any copyright assignment.

    What about scenario where you have contributed those bricks, and then the church says they are going to build an extension and say you cannot come and help if you swear and/or use rude language. Are they being unethical when they prevent rude people participating? Are any rule changes allowed? Who is allowed to make them?

    Dropbox doesn't need to know anything filesystem specific as it does not store any of that information, just files and timestamps.

    Bad chipset then, good USB ethernet chipsets compress the datastream over USB, thus can get higher transmission speeds.

    Google has to fail safe on AdWords as they need to please the advertisers, not the site owners. And nothing was blocked and no site has any right to demand AdWord money. This kind of thing will happen until we create a real AI and it will still make mistakes, like a person would, though perhaps both can categorise this site properly.

    That sounds odd, here I need to give one months notice to my current employer, and I wouldn't do that unless I had signed a contract with my new employer.

    Saying just Linux or GNU/Linux is quite worthless, better to say Linux. That actually means something.

    The most efficient way to teach best practices is to give the programmer electric shocks for every error, and more for bugs caught in testing. For approved commits you may award them with treats.

  24. Always use Visa Electron or Mastercard Maestro for any internet purchases and have them linked to a separate account where you move money as needed. It cannot go negative and is handy when sites try to autorenew subscriptions and fail :)

  25. I just wonder what these superior media players do that VLC doesn't? What I need is to be able to click on a video file and then watch it on the screen with minimal UI crud.
