Better think twice before you buy that 'l33t w3tw4r3'. Just because you can use your arms and legs with the greatest of ease doesn't mean you can use a cybernetic one that well. After all, most of us were born with them, so don't expect that level of control instantly. Also, any other wetware would be the same. Imagine trying to run with a cyber leg, when the cyber leg moves a hell of a lot faster than the normal one..
A move befitting for Microsoft would be to prosecute those people that get infected with the worm. However, Microsoft probably won't put much effort into finding whoever made the virus. They don't seem to care about virus writers, unless there were a virus that caused CD burners to write copies of Microsoft products..
As if I had enough to worry about from just owning Windows, innocent pranks will land you in prison beside all the 'higher level' criminals. I don't look forward to sharing a cell with a guy that used to kill, rape, and eat small children, in that order. All because I left a text file on a server telling the admin about security holes. This is freedom alright. Freedom from justice.
The Dreamcast still is a great system. It has nice graphics, nice sound, and some nice games for it. While you could argue that most systems have these things, the Dreamcast is one of Sega's best achievements. In fact, I would love to see Dreamcast development continued. There are great games like the Crazy Taxi series, the NFL and NBA 2k series..other things like Sega GT and Soul Calibur make the system. Not to mention its nifty-factor. Its based on WindowsCE, which makes it one step closer to being 'nifty' for a console. Add to that a BBA and a hard drive, and you have yourself a cheap terminal.
The Internet SHOULDN'T be taxed anyway..nothing about the Internet should be taxed..including Internet access, Internet services, nor anything purchased from the Internet. People should have access to the Internet and its products anyway, taxing it would only put another stumbling block between the public and the Internet.
I do type in the air anyway when I'm bored. Just imagine how fast you could type if you practiced for a while..probably near 200wpm. And I thought my 140wpm was nice (sure pissed off my high school typing teacher).
When you go out in public, do people sometimes stand clear of you or look at you like you're wielding an axe, due to your roles in Evil Dead and Army of Darkness? Reversely, do you ever sometimes walk through a crowd of people and imagine that you're fighting your way through a hoarde of zombies? (I do this sometimes in college)
I was talking about non-docked laptops primarily. Yeah, gaming will work for some people on laptops, I however, don't find it too comfortable/feasable. Granted, there are gamers who love their laptops for gaming and portability, I'm not one of them..portability is great, but a desktop will usually be my first choice. Now, gaming as in emulaters is a different story. Laptops are like, the best solution for us emu freaks.
I have a Trident CyberBlade 3D in my laptop..gives me great fps in most of the games I've played on it (TFC, CS, Q3, Civ3, Alpha Centauri), and most of the applications I've ran on it (3d Studio, Photoshop, word processers) ran quickly, smoothly, and without undue lag. Its amazing that I spend most of my time in college playing with various games/apps on my laptop, but I couldn't really use it for serious gaming. A game of AC or CS-in-bed was nice once in a while, but it was way too tiring for my tastes. I'm not even going to take it to a LAN party at a friends house pretty soon, I'm going to lug my huge monitor and case up dangerously-steep, short-stepped stairs to secure my place upstairs...because laptops suck for gaming.
Gaming on a laptop is unwieldy. Even though my laptop gets perfect FPS in TFC at 1024X768, I'd still much rather play it on my desktop (which also gets perfect frame rates). Even if I felt like installing my keyboard and mouse on my laptop, gaming on it just doesn't seem right. Besides, unless you're rich and have plenty of time to sit and play multiplayer games on your laptop away from home, a desktop is perfect for gaming usually.
I live in a small town called Norris, which is pretty much the old folks' home of the world (or so it seems). Right now, I'm waiting on cable modem service to launch (along with friends from Lake City). It hopefully will launch soon. Yeah, we can get DSL, but my NID is a collection of bare wires capped by a wire nut, leading into my house..I'm sure spiders and insects play hell when your line is trying to sync up...
...On how long it will be before the chipset developer scene splits into equal parts toward their favorite standard. Also taking bets on how long it will take before we're all going to have to buy 6 different adapters just to ensure we can use the hardware we want.
Game companies complain about people being pirates, and they give rights to produce their hardware/software out to other companies. If this won't hurt Nintendo's sales, I don't know what will.
Banning cookies would be lame. Instead, they should make websites now with two methods of data tracking. Something like cookies, and something else. Now-a-days, if you don't have cookies turned on, you can't do many things. This is just wrong. Its like telling people if they don't allow a camera crew to follow them around, they can't shop/use cars/live normally.
Hopefully the people they're hiring have many years of experience in analyzing patents and inventions. Hopefully they're all intelligent, unbiased and unassuming. We all know this isn't going to be so..We can only hope someone doesn't do something like give (insert large software/hardware company here) a patent on some key patent that will allow them to sue everyone that owns a computer and uses the internet. Hey, it could happen, but we must hope that they're hiring the best...or it just might.
Installing motherboards in a custom box is easy-easy. Making your own power supply is difficult. In high school electronics, we built computers all the time. Powersupplies were out of the questions. If someone makes their own motherboard/processor/graphics card, it'd be great.
What's so grand about a portable N64? You could just as easily make a portable PS2 or portable X-box or Gamecube or even a Dreamcast. A portable SNES would be better. At least the games on SNES you didn't have to actually 'sit down and play' to have fun with them.
Why is AMD making these things so sensitive to heat? I'll bet they're also sensitive to vibration, electricity, and about anything that its competitors handle every day. Most hammers can resist hundreds of degrees before they melt/disentigrate.
...if Altavista sold out the first few pages of search results for certain words to companies they'd make a lot of money, or even become better. Not condoning this, but doesn't Google/Yahoo do the same thing?
Microsoft has a long history of milking people of their money because they can charge almost whatever they want. Be thankful other OSes exist besides MS ones. Imagine what they'll do with services. At least many more people are in the services area of business, or you'd have "$8,000 a month and an upgrade plan for webmail" type services. And, of course, they'll have the right to do anything they want with what you send through the system...thats Microsoft for ya.
Why not just remove remote access from critical routers to begin with, and just have physical access to them? Unless your router is located in some unlocked janitors closet, it should be pretty safe from hijacking if remote access is disabled. But, everyone has to be lazy and have their remote access..somethings I can see, in some situations..but this is just lame.

Will East Tennessee get left out of this cool event, just like we are left out of reliable cable, good DSL and everything else I want?
If I were getting 2 FPS on some game for 10 hours, I'd be looking for a new God.

Money and business runs this country. Is it any coincidence that the company responsible for .biz is also responsible for .us? Is this a sign?

We're sorry, but you must drive a Ford in order to access this road. If you drive a Chevrolet or Mazda, your tires have been slashed. Have a nice day.
