Shouldn't that be $28.99 Canadian for a twelve-month subscription ?
If it doesn't Fly, Swim, Run, or if it isn't Green..Don't Eat It...
It's that simple..
Is it healthy ?
Well, I have been doing it for 10 months now. Who knows, maybe I will keel over tomorrow - but I doubt it. I am not a doctor, but my family doctor is very happy with my progress and health.
Do you loose weight ?
No shit.. 257lbs now 210lbs. More importantly I have lost FAT..
Do you need to work out ?
No you don't - I didn't for 6 months until I felt comfortable with my looks. But you will look like shit without any muscle mass, not to mention all the benifits of a higher metabolism, and athletic ability..
BUT YOU NEAD BREADS & GRAINS !!
Who sent you ? The Quaker Oats company eh ?
You just keep on eating your fat free rice cakes lard arse, we will see croaks first...
Do you have to watch your calories ?
No.. Eat as much as you want..
Go eat 3 hard boilded eggs.. Chances are you will not be hungry as quick as eating a bowl of rice, and certainly not as quick as a bag of chips.
But ??!!
But what ? Look, it's very simple biology that seems to have been overlooked since this "Fat Free" craze started.. FAT DOESN'T MAKE YOU FAT - SUGAR MAKES YOU FAT. I am not a "Registered Dietitian" (there is a WHOLE rant on those people), just a former unhealthy fat guy..
That being said, perhaps you have some weird digestive system, or metabolism that works totally different then mine and every fat person I have convinced to change their eating habbits. If so, then good luck on finding out what works for you.
A corporation will kill you in a second for the sake of a dollar, but they prefer to do it over 30 years..

I saw this unit at the store, and fell it love with it. A month later I was in a position to buy a laptop for myself for work, so I of course marched to the store and bought it.
After using it for a day, an evening, and a day - I returned it.
1) The Screen - I loved it - Nice and Big... Very Big.. Very Very Big... Too big.. The footprint of this unit is just HUGE.. It isn't a laptop, it's a platter, and it feels like it.
2) Cut Corners - Everwhere.. Flimsy plastic shell. Little plastic port covers that would be broken in a matter of weeks. A battery cover that rattled. Case feet that were just bumps in the unit plastic instead of real rubber feet (ie.. No Grip, so the platter slides around the desk). The unit rattled.
3) Missing IO.. Other people seem to be able to include SERIAL & IrDA ports as well as the other goodies on this unit (Firewire, etc.). The only thing this unit has the others don't is an extra USB
4) Missing Floppy.. As with point 3, since this is such a large laptop, one would think they could have found space.
Those are the main reasons, and the main things you should consider when looking at this baby.
ps.. Bought an Asus L3C - Love it, nice solid unit with everything on it, and about $1000 cheeper (and.1 GHz Faster)
First ? Nope - Before Wolk was Folk (the Functionally Overloaded Linux Kernel).
Fork ? Nope, just some some guy with the help of the few, to bring to the unwashed masses the kernel that the people with the time to hunt down and find patches have.
It's a patch set to the main kernel - Just with a crap load of really good stuff added on. Stuff that is out there, in the great open wastes of mailing lists.
Everytime I hear about an auto maker using fuel cell technology, it always is a hydrogen based one.
No one ever mentions the many other safer? systems like Zinc Air.
It just seems that replacing the mega Oil companies with mega Hydrogen companies doesn't sound like much of a change (other then being good to the environment)
The Zinc Air companies seem to have a better solution in many ways. I just can't see why all the auto makers want to go with another explosive compound that requires special handling and containment vessels.. Maybe they own shares in the "New" gas stations of the future ?
My team has built every machine in our company including the Desktops and Servers. About 8 years ago, we had to do a massive upgrade on many machines. I had just recently started there as the IT manager, and I only had one part time assistant.
Money was tight, and since I used to work at a computer stores building and supporting the machines, it was a no brainer to do everything in house. We now have a main office with just over 50 employees, and 4 brach offices in the US and Canada. Except for a few Dell machines I purchased for the remote US locations, everything built at the home office:)
It's now myself, with one full time assistant, and the management of the "White Box" units takes up hardly any time. With our cost savings, in most cases we have entire spare machines ready to give to the user to replace a failed unit. Then, in time we fix the problems with the broken one, and it's ready for the next person.
One thing I would recommend though, is if your going to do this, DO IT ALL THE WAY ! Buy your equipment from a wholesaler. Get an account set up, and be prepared to pay COD to start. You may have to be a bit "Creative" on the application forms, and you might have to go through getting the proper licences for your company (Sales Tax Numbers, etc.) since your technically going to "Sell" to yourself.
Once your good at it, you can start selling machines to the companies employees at a slight markup and MAKE some money to pay for the upkeep !
Then spread out the upgrade - a few units a month - every month, and when you get to the last one, start again from the oldest one on the floor. In an office your/my size it's easy to keep up, no machine gets more then 3 years old, and there is never a massive capital outlay again.
I have had a 739TLV from Acer since last December.
It has the built in Veridicom finger print scanner as well - right on the palm rest like the 740.
One problem with it : The crappy bundled software that Acer provides.. The software has not been maintained and the only version that exists pops up a "DUMMY" dialog box (It actually says 'dummy') during login as a remnant that they must have needed for development.
There are also hotkeys for the software that offer very limited selection. The hotkeys cannot be turned off. The wide range of choices are Shift End, Ctrl End (Can't write code now.. I depend on those !), and the F11 key..
Oh, and I can't forget the Registration Nag screen that forces you to go to the makers web site to register it. The nag screen can't be turned off with out the registration, and they don't even have an automated web based registration - just a page that tells you to CALL them or send them an email.....And no specs available to try and make it work under Linux..
So, after one year "Living with it" I wish they had left it out and made the unit cheaper...
He probably isn't allowed to touch a computer for the entire 8 months, and probably not for his entire probation.
I don't know about the rest of you geeks, but 20 months without being able to touch a computer is one hell of a punishment.
This topic should be called:
