Well if you have been reading the many articles, you would know the answer to that. I know that CNN's articles over the last few days have have stated several times they will try this with first the a heavy mud mixture shot, then the junk shot and if either is effective then they will cement the well closed.
And what exactly do you expect the Government to be able to magically do? BP has far more experience at this kind of problem than any 10 government agencies combined.
Just yesterday the EPA decided to intervene by ordering BP to stop using the dispersant which has been effective in reducing the impact because they think it might do some damage to the environment. As opposed to just letting the Millions of gallons of oil to just sit and spread. And that is all any government agency can do. Interfere.
Maybe some other Oil Co might be able to help but certainly not the Government.
But with Hamster-power(tm) your generation capacity would double every few months. And the poo generating capacity of hamsters is quite impressive, producing an additional power source.
I think you're on to something here. We'll have to look into it.
Because they want to keep it in an unchanged state until it can be handed to the forensics techs. Turning off the power will wipe anything in the ram. Now they have to make the decision to kill the power or risk a remote wipe.
And the Forensic techs now need to make sure they power the device up in a signal free area, so a latent wipe command can't be sitting on the network waiting for the device to log in and receive the command.
The Service will now need to ensure it's agents always have an exploitation kit at hand, to immidiately clone all data on any seized phone right there on the spot. They'd prefer to have techs do it in a controled environment, but this threat means they don't have time to wait for the device to get to the techs.
Yes we were hosed because our employer relied on network storage. I didn't explain it well. There were projects we were unable to work on. But those of us who did keep copies of the projects on our own hard drives were able to work on those, because all the necessary office software is on the individual computers.
Yes we were limited in what we could do because the major project we were supposed to be working on was on the network. And we had to scrounge a USB cable to be able to print anything but we were able to do some paperwork. Just not the main project.
Had our office suites also been reliant on the network we would have been totally hosed. Or even the internet often tends to bog down at times (they need a fatter pipe), and at those times even though the network shares are available, cloud apps would not. I admit I explained my point poorly. But it didn't invalidate the complaint.
So now the PHB's in the upper offices find this and think it's great, and move everyone to this. Great! Until the day the network has problems. Or you have to finish that presentation but are temporarily sitting in an office with no network because yours is getting remodeled.
Two weeks ago my entire office was shut down for doing any real work, because all our work data is on a shared drive located on the network. Problem was that our office was being re-carpeted and the temp space they moved us into had NO network available.
On the other hand we did enjoy watching several movies at work that day.
People don't upgrade the firmware in big part because firmware updates are not released. I've had my current Netgear router for over two years. There has not been one firmware update released. And the router management page even has a fairly prominent link to look for updates. If the router manufacturers don't post updates, how can the end users install them?
The Iowa Class Battleships were the last ships in our inventory armored sufficiently to survive a missile battle. Today's ships carry impressive armaments but are not really designed to take hits. Definitely not like the old battlewagons were. They were designed to slug it out with rounds weighing as much as 2700 lbs.
Today's ships rely on their defenses to keep from being hit by incoming rounds. Not on armor capable of shrugging off such hits.
The bullets were never intended to fragment, such round are prohibited, that's why we use jacketed slugs.
Second The Military has moved to almost exclusively tungsten tipped penetrator rounds. I haven't seen a non-green tip (other than tracers) in several years now. They poke holes in bodies just fine, problem is that it tends to do just that, and not tumble which transfers the force to the body resulting in knock downs, instead it just pokes straight through leaving the wounded enemy still upright and able to fight for a few seconds longer.
Third with proper shot selection, the M4 is just as accurate as the M-16, some would say even more so as it's stock length can be adjusted to the user, rather than a one size fits all approach found with the 16. Me I have long arms and like the stock fully extended, but many shorter people really appreciate the better sight picture they can get with a shorter stock. This leads to increased accuracy. I've seen M-4 shooters out shoot 16 shooters at professional level competitions.
You like to read, so books worked great for you (ditto for me). Not all kids like to read, or are old enough to read. Yet there are a wide variety of video's out there to enable the entertainment (and thus peaceful safe travel) of said kids.
When driving you should NOT be paying attention to your kids, you should be paying attention to the road. So having a way to entertain the kids (not all are old enough to read, and not all kids enjoy reading), to keep them from fighting which will distract you from driving.
Are these for everyone? No. Are they an invaluable tool for many parents trying to safely drive somewhere? Absolutely.
Actually if your debit card has a Visa or Mastercard logo on it, it has the exact same protections on it as a credit card.
If your bank is giving you the run-around on getting your money back, start complaining and look for another bank. The moment you noticed a problem and reported it, the card should have been shut off, and all transactions starting with the first questionable one you pointed out reviewed with you.(just like with a credit card) Your bank may take a day or two to restore your money, but longer than that is worthy of a complaint to VISA and the BBB.
How about someone who's meds have run (Is it a crime to forget to take your meds on a long trip?) out and they experience a psychotic breakdown. Wife calls 911, to get help in calming him down. 42 seconds after the officer arrives on the scene the Tazer is deployed on this innocent man, who granted in his delirium had stripped naked. A second jolt is administered as he's lying incapacitated on the ground.
This resulted in his death. No crime had been committed, mental illness is not a crime. Yet this family is now without a husband and father.
No crime, but still a death by Taser. This happened last year in Utah.
Not to mention, that the afghans are actually a mostly fair skinned people. (At least until they spend their lives out working in the fields.) Blue/green eyes are the standard eye colors found among the people there. The racist "brown people" accusation just does not fit.
These folks are not Arabic, they actually have a strong Aryan (Persian/Iranian ethnic background) and Caucasian (The Caucasus mtns are just to the north) genetic background. The one exception to this are the Hazera who are descended from the Mongols.
Forget the emergency transponder, just plain no Car(it has computers in it). Or using an ATM, or an automatic ticket kiosk (for say mass transit system). Computers are everywhere. His credit cards may even violate that restriction.
A very good ruling IMO.
But wireless is easier, and less intrusive to set up a dispersed network with. This isn't a workspace designed with cable runs and conduit. It's a home, so she could pay Electricians to come in and run cable all over the house inside the walls (with or without conduit), or she could have cables running all over the house. Or she can do as she has and run one wi-fi router and all is good (except for one idiot of a neighbor).
Sure it's not as fast as UTP but it's a hell of a lot more convienient. Even more so if she uses a laptop and likes to move around the house with it.
Not to mention that, I've used it for years now and it has Always required a registration for the free version. The registration is quick and easy, even if it does need to be redone annually.
It's worth it for a program that while now starting to show a little bloat is still far superior to the masters of bloat known as Norton or Mcaffee.
Avast! works and it works well. It isn't overly intrusive, and should I decide I no longer want it, it will remove easily and entirely, unlike the above mentioned products.
Okay with it, probably not. Not that I'd be able to complain. But if the Chinese gov decides to target me. That would be an act of war by the Chinese against the US. Slightly different case.
Simple, who do you think the Military/Government is? It's made up of your fellow citizens. The military have all sworn to defend the constitution, as have many of the other government employees.
These days people love to accuse the Government or Military, of being some nebulous, all powerful, malignant force striving to enslave us all. But they are not such beings, those entities (Gov/Military) are made up of normal people, trying to do their jobs the best they can.
Do some make mistakes and cross the line as to what is acceptable or beneficial? unfortunately yes, but they are the exceptions not the rule.
How is my post a leak? The processes for establishing targets is not classified. although some of the criteria being used may be, the processes are not. Google Army FM's on Analysis.
As to this situation: if someone is actively committing treason, they know it. And should be fairly confidant that the country they so despise will take them out if it gets the opportunity. That is what the "believe me" part was about. The targeted individuals are actively working against our very way of life, let alone our country and various faiths (or lack thereof).
Our faith, is anything even slightly different from the Radical Islamic views of Al Qaeda. Even Moderate Islam can and will fall under that label. And yes Atheism falls under the umbrella as well.
And if I ever decide to forswear my citizenship and associate and work with a terrorist group at war with our country, I'll do so with the knowledge that I will probably end up being targeted for my actions.
As I have no intention of doing so. Even if I disagree with some of our policies, I'll fight them through legal means, not go overseas and join a foreign force fighting our country.
The process of adding a NON-US target to the target lists, takes a lengthy and usually time consuming process. For a citizen it gets that much longer. We are not targeting random US citizens willy nilly. These are people actively engaged against us, in clear well documented ways (usually with video made by the persons targeted expressing their hatred and intentions against the country.)

For OBDII http://www.thinkgeek.com/gadgets/car/aa31/ has reader, that comes with it's own software for just $99.

No fly lists is a far cry from being on an active target list. If you destroyed your monitor, sorry you don't understand the difference.
