Does anyone remember the Slashdot article on the CoolChip? It was basicly a really efficent peliter 70% or so. Well they have engineered it's brother, the powerchip. Give it heat xfer it gives you electricity. At a est 70% efficency.
Powerchips
As an anti-social gamer and older-than-the-average I used to think that I was a reject or something was wrong with me. but I managed to convince my self that I was just different. Since I don't like most people anyway, I began to revel in my odd-socialy-malligned bahavior.
And I was happy
And then come this post saying I am not different, that I belong to an entire group of like minded, socialy-malligned older-than-average gamers.
Now I am back to where I started. Not really different. Just socialy-malligned.
I need a support group or something.
I work with a local school (Long Beach School for Adults) recycling machines and one of the biggest pains in the butt is having to buy an OS license (redmond tax). This is going to be a big thing for me and I am glad to see an educational directed distro.
Right now when our computer fails we say "it crashed" if these things get very popular and they fail what do you say? "my box just got torpedoed"... "i'm sunk" "hardware to wetware conversion" how about "my box has the drip" hahahaha.... OK not that funny, but, whatever...
It would seem to me that the region coding is there to protect movie houses in non-US areas. Is this an MPAA money/power grabbing scheme or is it really an effort to protect small moviehouses in Europe. I'm starting to think the latter, but still undecided...
Although I don't like their distro's all that much... a little to corprate/big business you have to hand it to them... that have kinda become the poster child of Open Source as far as the masses are concerned.
Don't much like em but I support them all the way.

please post something intelligent or stop breathing our air. Or better... send em the letter.
What I find more disturbing is that she has taken it upon herself to try to teach others about computer/Internet/OS platforms.
