    I'd like to see this use virus definition files that are recent. Can this CD automatically download them and use them? I'd rather see this than some schmuck running around with a six month old liveCD with old virus defs.

    By the way, a USB memory stick won't cut it.

    That being said, I wish there were texture and model packs out there that would make Deus Ex 1 pretty. I've got a 9700 pro here, and Deus Ex isn't making it work very hard. Eidos, if you're listening: I would like some high-quality textures and models, please.

    I cannot emphasize buying a warranty enough. I went through enough parts in my current powerbook (G4/500) to build four new powerbooks. I saved approximately $16k in parts.

    For $350, you can't go wrong.

    I'm rather glad to see that GuS, gfunk and the crew have made it so far, but I still want my drunksaling. I'm surprised at the huge community that grew around the RvsB videos, and that they have reached such popularity.

    I think that if an admin of a corporate network had several thousand wireless clients, a simple airsnort would compromise thousands of computers, without requiring the packet sniffer actually access any sort of ethernet cabling.

    This could have a grave impact on the sales of wireless-based chipsets in the corporate market.

    I, for one, can't stand sparkle. I wasted a good three motherboards on three different sparkle power supplies, but in my latest incarnation, I went Antec, and I haven't looked back since.

    The Truepower series is truly fantastic. My 5v, 12v, and CPU core voltages are all on target (My sparkle PSU had me past 2 volts on an Athlon TBred B chip), and I haven't had a single PSU-related error yet. I just wish there were less connectors, it's really making my box look messy.

    Do you have any idea how inefficient solar panels are? According to this (which looks reliable enough) the highest efficiency of any solar panel was 28%. This means that 72% of the sun's energy went into heating or pushing the solar panel around. Given a solar panel's thin design, I would say it was possible, if not probable, to acquire spin from a largish solar panel at that distance from the sun.

    That it would be more reliable to use the higher spectrum. If you can transmit 900 million waves/second, then you probably can't fit as much error correction in the stream as the protocols used in 2400 million waves/second communication due to the lower bandwidth of the 900MHz band. Then again, I'm just guessing. Any radio geeks want to take a stab at this?

    The other good thing about MP3 is its versatility. Your examples are fitted perfectly for their bitrates, but I prefer a better-quality MP3 as I do listen to MP3's on my home stereo and other places where a high-quality bitrate is A Good Thing. I would rather sacrifice space for quality on my iPod, but you sacrifice quality for space. This is a personal preference. I prefer high-quality.

    Ever notice how the cymbal crashes sound like utter and complete ass? It's the same thing as the JPEG artifacts in pictures, but instead of visual artifacts they're aural artifacts. MP3 sucks unless it's encoded at 192 kbps or above for that reason.

    The PC chokes several times, but the G5 is handling it well, 25-33% CPU USAGE

    Hot damn, that was impressive.
