Looks like it's time for someone to do some math here and figure out the strength of the field necessary to recharge the watch. IMHO IIRC from physics class, it shouldn't be all that big of a deal. We are talking such short battery life because the device is indeed so small, and there is not room for a large battery. If it were the size of a normal PDA, it would last forever on one battery. This however works to our advantage in that it would not take a whole lot of juice to recharge it. I think one could easily safely produce a strong enough alternating field to recharge such a thing. *hopes this post down in the depths doesn't get overlooked*
Let's create a site, and get this thing off the ground. I'd love something like this, and it's really the kind of thing I have been searching for for a while now. I'd help if I could. I also like the idea of having lasers flash out the connections, the only problem I see with that is how easy it would be to lose alignment. Anyway, e-mail me. I want to hear more about this, and participate. ______________________________me Wh o else would sign my post?

Actually, that's exactly what it meant. It however neglected to say it exactly. It said that the frames were buffered, and the current compared to the new. This would require the current to be stored somewhere, not the new, therefore the last frame, not the next frame, is buffered...the pipeline looks like this.
pixel-->compare to current pixel at location (from buffer)-->look up value-->pass value to FFD controller-->put pixel into buffer, overwriting the last frame at that location-->get next pixel-->repeat.
Look. I don't want to argue the finer points of this with anyone, because I know it will degenerate into a flame war. My point simply is that in this culture, if you are a perfectly healthy size 14-16, you are ostracized as being fat, which is often simply not true. I personally happen to abhor the current standards of beauty that, if were applied in a world other than modern day America, would quickly wipe out the human race.
Shhhh! Be Vewwy vewwy kwiet.... I'm hunting bugs...
Well, actually, Xena could have stood to put on a few pounds too. Her hips, thighs, ass, etc. should have been bigger for breasts that size, and she could definately use to be curvier...a little bit bigger. Soft, rounded...you know...attractive.

Microserf:What are we going to do tonight, Bill?
Bill:Same thing we do every night. Try to take over the world.
Bill:Are you pondering what I'm pondering, Microserf?
Microserf:I think so, Bill...But how are we going to eliminate open source without a pink weasel?
Bill:Shut up, Microserf.
Thank you. Seriously, folks, it's a sad day when the cultural ideal of "beauty" looks like a 12-year-old boy with a bad boob job. And, if you wish to know exactly what I'm talking about when it comes to real, attractive women, I've put together a link. Click here to find out what I'm talking about.

Well, I don't know about anyone else, but I'm waiting for the day when TV women actually gain some weight. So far all the stars are IMHO sickeningly thing...and I mean...thin enough to make me grimace, and have to fight to keep my lunch down. Eat something, ladies. For a little while, though, if I remember right, Deanna Troi did look alright...then she got skinny too. Ah well, what can I expect from MTV-obsessed pop-culture-zombies? Heh...well, we can all dream, can't we?
Well, I don't know if anyone even reads this thread anymore, but there is one obvious solution. It would require some dedication from all parties involved. Note, I do not yet know enough about the dilemma to create what I am about to propose, so don't ask me to code it. I would gladly help though. [my e-mail is open, without even a reference to potted meat]
Anyway, without further adieu...
Why not just create a new network for these situations? The IP network we know as the Internet can handle the traffic. We can route it any number of ways. New networks are very possible, take the success of Gnutella for example. It's a task, but not an impossible one.
You're definately not the only one with these sorts of problems. Even here on my family's 1.2GHz/256M Athlon, there have been problems of that nature. I hope the VM is better. I remember the days when Linux would easily install on a 486/66/16M and run forever w/ no problems.

That actually sounds like a very very cool idea.
I'd love to see anything you get out of that.
Let me know if anything happens. I'm all for evolving new life forms.
