The solution to avoiding deficits is to not spend more than you have. The gov't wants MORE and MORE every year.. and a lot of it is pork. The only way to support this habit of spending is to take more and more from the tax payer (in their minds) but in reality you generate more revenue to the gov't when you cut taxes. JFK knew this and so did Reagan. the more money people have the more money goes into the economy. Even if the people are taking that pay check and putting it into savings and not spending it, it's still going into the economy because it's not like that money is sitting in a vault some where, it's being invested through the markets.
we are headed for an economic disaster though in the US. the top income erners are pay way too much tax and at some point this is bound to collapse at the way it's going. The lower income erners (the largest percent of people) are being taken off the tax rolls and the burden of welfare programs and being shifted to the rich. The class warfare tactics are working as well. You hear "The working family" all the time, but what does that mean? to these class warfare people, you are only a working man/family if you make less than x number of dollars. so to them the rich dont' WORK for their money, they just use and exploit people. I'm sure that these rich people don't wake up every day and sit on their asses. So the only difference between them and the "working man" is that they make more money.
In our socities around the world it has been demostrated time and time again that when you take freedom away from people and you seek to control them you will ultimitly fail. People don't like being forced to do things or be forced not to do things. What if they started to control us through their various means and we just unplugged? If I had to pay to send e-mail for example, I simply wouldn't do it.
That is the great thing about capitalism. If we don't like the service we just don't use it.
The media companies are going about things the wrong way. I went into a record store in the mall and an old CD from 1995 is $18.99. Now do you think that I said "Oh there is that CD I am looking for! Sure, i'll pay 20 bucks for it". Hell no. The CD I was wanting was a CD by Belly that when I bought it back in 1995 it was only $11.00. Now my copy is lost and why do they think i'm going to pay almost twice as much as I did when it was new, just to replace my copy?
And if you are still reading this and looking for a point.. I lost mine;)
I would go to movies if people knew how to SHUT THEIR DAMN MOUTHS! I went to see Spiderman and I had a jack-ass next to me who wanted to impress his friends that were across the theatre, by talking all through the movie... putting in his comments and thoughts. I leaned over and said "Excuse me, could you shut the hell up?" and he said "OH sorry!" and kept talking.
Went to see Star Wars Episode 2... Baby started crying.. for 2 minutes until people starting shouting at the parents!
Went to see Lord of the Rings. Jerk sitting next to me kept talking.
On and on... EVERY movie I go to is spoiled by jack assses talking. This is why I've stopped going to the movies. It's not about price. It's not about the "evil" movie companies. It's about enjoyment.
I get more enjoyment by sitting in my room and watching a grainy pirated copy of "the others"... because no one is talking and interupting my movie!
eeek, can't believe i'm about to say this, but Rush Limbaugh was right about the ADA. He said that these absurd things would happen, and well, they are.
And what if EVERY SINGLE car manufacturer did this? What would you do then? Not buy a car? What if it was federal law that NO ONE could sell 3rd party accesories for cars? What if it was illegal for you to go to the local Auto Zone and buy a new gas cap and install it your self? What if it was illegal to buy a CD Player for your car because it didn't come from Ford or Mercedes but rather PINE or Panasonic? What would you think then? What if this was all FEDERAL law (as the DMCA is)?
The point is.. where does this stop?
Fine, then let's shut down Discount Auto Parts, Pep Boys, Auto Zone et al.
They sell parts that aren't FROM FORD but will work on Ford cars, and will modify the ford car you bought. Don't you get it?
This is insane! I mean, what if Ford started shutting down shops that trick out cars? Would the people stand for that?
My rule, if I buy it, it's MINE! I don't give a darn WHAT the EULA says. EULA isn't exactly a strong legal document.
I think you are mistaken. Look at what happened on 9/11/01. People were helping strangers. A lot of people lost their lives while trying to carry people down 85 flights of stairs because they were handicapped. Don't under estimate us! I saw the lines of people lining up to give blood that day. When called upon, we DO unite.
Heavier is spelled heaver in the summary... so get ready for the millions of people to tell you about it!

Honestly,
The biggest problem with the one button mouse isn't that it has only one button but rather that it has one BIG button.
It feel awkward because you only use ONE finger to push down with, yet 2 of your fingers fit on the one button mac mouse. So when you push down it's awkward. If they want only one button mice.. then why not split it in half like a 2 button mouse and have the left half be the button that people click and the other half not be a button? I think then it wouldn't feel so weird.
I did. My point is that if it's MY music and I share it it should be ok according to the article. The article talks about copyright infringment. But I don't think that USC is worried about people violating copyrights, I think they are worried about the cost of bandwidth.
Well thankfully, obsolite isn't really obsolite any more. I mean back in the days, you HAD to upgrade like EVERY month to play the latest games and use the latest apps. I have an Athalon 1500+ and now they have 2.2ghz out and such.. but do I really need to upgrade? Look at the specs on almost any thing and the highest CPU recomended is like 800MHZ. So until developers decide to start utilizing more resources, your computer should last over a year before you HAVE to upgrade.
I had a AMD k6-3 400mhz for over 2 years and it was still running all the latest apps just fine.
You could try READING and using COMMON SENSE once in a while? I said
I used windows since back in the Win 3.1 days.
Where does it say that i'm still using windows 3.1?
But you lose the choice to run the OS on the hardware you want. You want the Mac OS.. buy a MAC computer. If you want linux.. but any thing. Buy a dreamcast.. or an XBOX.. or a cheap 233mhz PC
Exactly what happened to me! I did have a backup though.. but that isn't the point.
I booted up and it told me that my profile was corrupt and that it was making me a new one. I said "ok fine" so it made me a new profile. I moved all my desktop things (including a projects folder with 6 gigs of info) onto my new desktop. after a while I had to reboot... when I booted back up.. Windows told me that my old profile was FIXED.. it then DELETED the profile it had JUST made for me on the last boot.. so it deleted EVERY THING that was in that profile.. including the 6 gigs of project files!!!
I used windows since back in the Win 3.1 days. I finally had had it when Windows deleted a TON of my files for no reason. I looked into getting a MAC but it was just too much money... and I had JUST built a new Athlon 1500+ system. So I switched to Linux and haven't had any problems since. Linux is great because you can run it on just about ANY THING.. and you have CHOICE.. something you don't have much of in Windows or Mac.

can any one just go ahead and explain it in layman's terms? I mean, I haven't read it yet but I can just tell i'm not going to get it ;) hehe j/k
What did you expect? It's government afterall ;)
Yeah
but it is ironic that they will usually carry games where you can KILL others but the minute you show some one naked it's vulger.
So the message to the youth... making love is bad. Killing is good.
so mindless.

Actually that isn't the same, because you're accessing the net. I think that their net provider has more of a cause to bust you for B&E right?
How is it any different than me sitting next to some one at a stop light and hearing their crappy music?
I did. My point is that if it's MY music and I share it it should be ok according to the article. The article talks about copyright infringment. But I don't think that USC is worried about people violating copyrights, I think they are worried about the cost of bandwidth.

The only reason that buying drugs pays terrorists is becuase it's ILLEGAL. If it was LEGAL there wouldn't be a 17,000% markup. Libertarian Party
