My cable box is also a DVR, I'd have one anyway and the cost to rent it is about the same as the monthly cost for tivo. I also like to take advantage of the on demand offerings that my cable company has really filled up lately. Can cable cards do that right now? I hear alot of complaints about cable companies, and it sounds like the big guys are pretty much willing to sit around and let momentum carry them. I'm lucky enough to have a smaller provider who has been doing great things lately. As of two and a half months ago, they sucked. But now I have tons of on demand stuff, two tuner DVR, and 10mb down / 1mb up internet. I can't complain.
I cancelled one of my cc cards because I lost it. I never gave the replacement number to packet8 and they turned off my service.
Them having no valid cc and not providing me service did not stop them from charging me every month until I actually called them to cancel.
Mind you, they never sent me a bill via email or snail mail. Just an email once saying my cc wasn't working. Then when I called to reactivate service five or six months later they say I owe them about $100.
After a complaint with the FTC and State Attorney General they called me and said they would take care of it, then afew months later I get a collections notice.
The fact that you are minding you own business does not need to be trumpeted to be true. If someone is loud about minding their own business, chances are, they are not.
This is exactly what he should be doing. He is minding his own business and going with the flow. Notice he did not mention racing people or cutting them off if they wanted to go around him on the shoulder (illegally). More people should stand up for themselves and ignore the traffic peer-pressure.
Guaranteed things for jobs sound like a good idea until you compare the economies of places that do that (mexico) with the economies of places that do not (USA).
There are many jobs, programming is one of them, where two arent' necessarily better then one. If you just moving stuff around, or putting things together, yeah more people is usually better. But for any job that requires thought and planning one good person can be better then 10 decent people.
Americans have the benefit of understanding the culture, language, and standard expectations. There is no reason someone from another culture should be able to outdo them in the majority of jobs. Unfortunatly alot of amercians don't put use their advantages or they are lazy.
Well for single connections you would just need to put IP's in the address book. If you want multiple people to connect, like a 3-way call I don't think this would work as well.
Dlink's DVC-1000 is what you need. I work with deaf people and they use these to communicate via ASL. It is good enough for them to read their sign's. They cost about $200 and work on residential broadband with a TV, no computer required. They also have a microphone.
My understanding is that for a group policy pregnancy cannot be a pre-existing condition. This is not true for individual policies. I actually started working somewhere when my wife was 7 or 8 months pregnant and she delivered before my 90 day waiting period was up. Luckily they gave me the option of buying into the insurance early at a higher cost.
I've heard some state agencies can consider pregnancy a pre-existing condition due to some obscure federal laws.
I mean come on, get over it. Linux is linux. Suse, Debian, Ubuntu, Slackware, Red Hat, Fedora,Kannotix...
Some have better support for different hardware or slightly different ways of implementing things.
If SUSE screws up there will always be alternatives. OpenSUSE is not connected to this deal in any way and could easily diverge if they disagree with the direction Novell is taking.
Horsehit?
The timing belt on my car broke, it was awful. I couldn't have had anything to do with it being 110,000 miles past due on being changed.:(

That is interesting. I never thought of that, but it does make sense and makes the numbers work better.
I hate when people who have been divorced several times act like they are just waiting for your marriage to fall apart and think it has to be awful. I know that is their reality, but most people understand that different people have different experiences. Why do they think all marriages are doomed?
In a world where people routinely die of old age (and other things), I see children as our most important asset. I have no problem with my taxes going to support a mother who stays home to take care of her children (assuming she is a good parent).
I too make it clear that while my wife is "Mommy" to my dauAny mghters she is first and foremost "My Wife". It cracks me up when my daughter refers to her as "Your wife". I think children are usually first for mothers (men deal with this better), but a man should take care of his wife.
Sorry, but it has to be said...
You sir, are an arrogent douchebag.

does it matter to mkmkc?

I'm pondering my next step.

Wiki's need to be on a virtual machine so they can be easily moved to good hardware.
Do you redirect folders or sync your "My Documents"? I heard 2003 R2 is supposed to fix this.

I have a problem w/ a $1000 a month carpayment. I was shocked that some people pay $500 a month for essentially a throw away item.

Everybody just needs to calm down.
You make some good points, the Dems suck, unfortunatly so do the Reps.
Who is a rational conservative to vote for?
Do it yourself with a linux partition and partimage. You can easily script the backing up and restoring.
I prefer to use a mirrored port on my switch. This keeps me from having to unplug the entire network to slip the bridge in place.

paradigm??
There are two species of humans, one thinks sex is a special thing to share with a special person.
The other thinks sex is fun.
Guess which one ruins it for everybody.

Don't 1/2 of all marriages end in divorce? I think any profession has a relatively high divorce rate. Marriage takes work.
