Way back in 2003, I searched for *.ogg with giftd and downloaded 3500 of em in one night. It took about a year before I had listened to them all and now I have an incredibly different perspective on music.
They use Icewm over Linux on their registers and the file system they use is ext3. I know for a fact that at about 8 they pull the plug on all the computers to conserve energy. You could contact them and ask for pointers.
It is about as mature as a ten year old boy.
It still has a hissy fit or two, sometimes It picks its nose or craps in its pants. It is will soon phase out these childish tendencies and will then enter puberty, god help us all.

I totally agree with you but why didn't you just say this initially?
Well actually I was quite impressed with the civility of most the people so far. The Gnome people compliment the KDE team for being speedy and, KDE people stay on topic, and the E,WM, ICEWM, Black Box and other people have kept real quiet. Now this is the way slashdot should be.
On an more OT note, I can't wait until they release 3.0Final, I am sure It will be more stable then some past stable Linux kernels *COUGH*2.4.15*COUGH*

"I also hang out at several goth clubs and have been involved in some performance art shows and a model for several fetish clothing fashion shows in Chicago, IL USA." Those pictures are of HIM and he is in drag. Why you people thought he was a woman is beyond me.
P.S. I have no problem with what D.M.D does on his own time.
ah but lest we forget that mosfet's theme is only the most resent thing he has done(besides pixie), he also did most of the coding for kicker and the KDE system tray.
And well deserved awards at that...

KDE is by far the most functional WM(or desktop enviroment) I have ever used, many programs still have bugs and i see the kcrash screen all to often but i'm sure when KDE 3.0 comes out some if not most of these problems will be adressed. CONGRATS KDE!

As I said in an earlier post the only way this bad boy could run Linux is with some sort of Ramdisk technology (because of the Gamecubes lack of a hard drive), which is entirely possibly. The tricky part would be getting the game cube to recognize the memory cards before the game in the tray.
The mods are off there rockers right about now, that was not a troll. Anyway I wounder how long it'll be before someone figures out how to but a ramdisk version of linux on one of those memory cards, and boots up mandrake on one of these puppies. Now that i'd like to see.
Get some smarts dude, even the prez said get back to doing what you normally do. We can't stay in the past or we'll never get to the future, sure i'm a sad as the next guy 'bout what happend, but thats no reason for me to stop everything and mourn 24/7.
I agree the mosfet theme is increadebly functional and less ram intensive then others i've see (Ex. aqua graphite, Luna...) and as an end user i really don't much care that the most recent source code for it is no longer available, however some of his old stuff is coverd by the Gpl and i hope some day an ambiseos programer will take the rains and make an even better theme. Mosfet was indeed talented but alas he has made up his mind and won't be comming back to the linux community.
btw I am uning the high prefomence theme right now.
I'm sorry if i trolled, i was just tring to be informative, i've actually had a brief email back-and-forth with Mr.Dooly he doesnt seem like a bad person, just a cry baby.
Mosfet is a Fsking hot head he needs to chill a bit and see the big picture, he left the Linux community with a sour taste in there mouths by saying he was not appriciated at all and has been treated like shit(Which IMHO is the farthest thing from the truth). Then he screws over the company he switched to after changing teams. This guy is not wanted by either side and i'll tell you why, because he's a cry baby, the second things go wrong he bitches and complains until things go his was, and what per-chance if things don't? Well he packs up his shit and leaves, he's done it twice already to Linux and Windows users. The next step MAC USERS!!!
I want to throw in my support for the resurrection of earthbound. It's simply a great and hugely underrated game.

Have your favorite player (winamp XMMS) play the song but redirect the audio to a file. How would they possibly stop you from doing this?
For a fairly cheap 1 Terabyte arry look no farther then here: http://www.kcgeek.com/content/features/1011742784. Peloquin.feature/feature.html
I think we should be more worried about the possibility of him kicking our butts at CS.
