Oh yes, very free. I read somewhere, timeframe before Sony tried to stop item selling, that some third world country was promoting everquest because the price of platinum in the game, once converted to american greenbacks was worth a thousand times what this little countries currency was worth. Sorry I simply cannot racall where I read this, if anyone else read the article post a link or tell us which country it was. Imagine some small resource starved country doubling it's GNP through online gaming and sales of virtual items.
Perhaps everything is fine, or perhaps the media is just the outlet by which those in power marginalize anyone who says differently. One rational question to ask might be; Why are environmentalist given the same spin as terrorists? Watch closely the next time you see an environmental group trying to save some remaining old growth or a wet land. Let's take federal timber as an example;
a. who owns the land being debate?
b. who has the contract on the cutting of said timber?
c. if public record, then check to see if that contract holder has made any donations to that districts politicians.
The fence sitters see the news and say to themselves, "self, there isn't much we can do without being incarcerated, I think I'll go buy a new SUV so I feel better." Anyone who might consider some kind of grass roots environmental action becomes terrified quickly by the thought of the man putting the squeeze on him. He might loose that, job, house, boat, peer respect, etc. And we wouldn't want that to happen. I'm just an un-educated hick from the sticks with a few memories of how to do some stuff on a computer. Better I just shut up now and tapity tap tap tap on my bosses accounting software, wouldn't want to miss that deadline... cough cough...

Having watched Earthlink do the same thing with Sprint, and about 6 local ISP's I can say that the customer support will probably be worst, but at least the browsing will be slower. Poor bastards. You don't have to use them. Support a local ISP, sure its Qwest's DSLAM at the CO but you don't have to use them as your ISP. bah I'm preaching to the...
They wouldn't mind outputting all that user input in one large comma deliniated text file? I'm not asking for Gracenotes code or services. The users would just like to get back what they put in.

I found this on the securityfocus mailing list:
cat error_log error_log.1 | grep 'default.ida' | awk '{print $8 " " $1 " " $2 " " $3 " " $4 " " $5}' | sed s/[][]/" "/g > myreport.txt
Which then really begs the question; Now what should I do with this list of compromised machines? oh never mind...
Lie. Tell them you are using a Mac. Find another ISP.

Yes, thats why anonymizer.com is so great.
Why not have the athletes post there diaries on one of the sponsors sites. The IOC and the sponsor get the banner ads and we get the stories.
