As a programmer/admin, do you want to learn how to program bash scripts more securely? Good luck with that. Googling "bash security" or any variation thereof results in nothing but search results for the "Shellshock" exploit that was discovered recently.
In 2009, I alerted Apple to a major security flaw in their dev portal, in which anyone with an account could lock out admin access of any other account in the portal. I called their support hotline, and got a cocky rep from Ireland who assured me that no, such a thing was not possible, and that my understanding of the situation must be incorrect.
I wonder if they've ever fixed that issue, especially when they took the dev portal offline for a few months to fix other glaring security issues.
You're kidding, right? One 120 year-old laborer won't purchase or consume nearly as much as four 30 year-old laborers. After all, I'm sure that when you turn 50 or so, you'll get pretty bored with buying the latest new fads and such. In today's disposable and "planned-obsolescence" economy, thank god no one believes in buying used goods.
Allowing plebeians to live forever basically kills the income channels of the rich.
Doesn't this mean that expert witnesses, in criminal prosecution trials, would become harder to procure? After all, you're making the *knowledge* illegal.
> Because that doesn't strike me as a solution, but rather as an attitude that's part of the problem.
So you're saying that technically-inclined people who are willing to implement technical measures in order to fix problems are part of the problem? Why? Because it's preventing the rest of us from locking arms and joining together in the fight against a corporate plutocracy who is casually indifferent to the desires of the all-consuming mass?
Thank god the group is called "Partnership for a New American Economy". I'd hate to think they were sponsoring anything un-American, which obviously they could only do if they were being duplicitous about the name of the group. Politically-minded folk wouldn't do that, would they?
Oh, I presume that you have data about how many parents claim allergies, and how many of those claims are baseless and unsupported by their doctor's direction? If so, please share this data with the rest of the world. I'm sure it will help advance the state of vaccination.
You cannot create music on the audio hardware that comes onboard a PC or Mac.
I'm new to the area. Where can I buy the drugs that you're on?
I know more than one producer who uses plain old audio. Most music software has a "Render to audio file" feature that bypasses the audio subsystem completely. This removes one variable from the equation, and is thus preferred.
Well, that's a pretty arrogant interpretation.

You can still use JS the original/correct way
Oh, thank god there's finally a single person who can serve as the undisputed arbiter of the "correct way" to use JavaScript.
Now if only we could force the entire world to listen to you.

I patiently away the Patriots Believe In Freedom And America Act, which of course will strip away more of our American freedoms.
We test hundreds of potential improvements to the service every year.
Oh, do you hear that, guys? It's an improvement. Much fuss about nothing, then.

But what if you're running your VM within a VM? Will the malware know it's still in a dream?
No, but the HR department *does* care that the software is called GIMP.
Dear God, no. If software developers used publicists from Fox News, then LibreOffice would have been called "ObamaCommieOffice".
And what's the solution? Flip the name backwards and put a slash underneath.

"Why are manhole covers round?"
So that they can maim and kill people as they roll downhill.
This type of technology will be the reason why geeks finally develop a genetic predisposition to be physically fit.
Doesn't this violate the terms of GPL? They're shipping binaries (for the bundle ad-ware) without providing the source.

I don't think you've ever been to Japan.

Not even my wife has access to my bank account. Nice try, honey.
That was fast.

Google hyper-vacillates between creating new garbage that nobody wants, and retiring old garbage that people need.
