What you say makes total sense, if you think that $200 is not a ridiculous amount to be paying for TV. Maybe we're spoiled in the UK, but here cable and satellite have to compete with Freeview - free OTA - which has 20-30 watchable (for varying degrees of watchable) channels.
I can't help thinking that too many people are now used to paying maybe $30 max for 2 or 3 streaming services, and will baulk at prices anywhere near the amount they used to pay for cable.
I've been told several times on this site that no-one is owed anything (for example, poor people are not owed a way out of poverty). So surely that applies to content makers?
What about all the people who don't match your imaginary blue collar party guy? Does it make it easier to look down on them if you imagine they are all blowing their limited cash on parties, holidays and hanging with friends on a work day?
I would say well done for working your way up, but it seems to have just left you bitter.
I can only presume you mean 'superhero comics', since basing a movie off a comic really doesn't limit the subject matter at all. Its like saying 'enough damn movies with stories'.
Not that I can blame you since the big comic companies have been milking that decaying body since before time began, but in the larger world comics are just a medium for any kind of story.
So really your philosophy is to punish people for choices made when they were children? Or in many cases, for the conditions that they lived under when they were children?
I always find it a strange position, because if the world doesn't owe people anything, then you are not owed what you have. You are happy to accept societies help in making sure you hang onto your un-owed wealth though.
Or ignore them. I've been getting letters addressed to 'The Legal Occupier' for years telling me they are starting an investigation, proceeding with an investigation or even 'an agent will be visiting your address on this date'. I ignore them all and have yet to have a visit from anyone. I guess putting a letter in the bin every few months could be considered annoying, but not sure I'd count it as harassment (it does bring me pleasure though, so maybe I'm just odd).
If they want into my house they can bring me the court order otherwise they have no more legal right to enter my house than any other random stranger. For the record I have bought a couple of antenna in the last couple of years from Amazon (for someone else, I don't watch over the air tv) but I can't say its made any difference to their 'investigations'.
I've never had a problem with second hand phones. I buy mine from high street stores so they come with a warranty. Plus I've only ever bought phones with a removable battery so it wouldn't be too much hassle to replace it.
I've not owned that many phones either, but I've had more new ones die on me than second hand ones.
Totally agree. My original post was in reply to someone's comment that ' if 1200 bucks is gonna break you thats your own fault'.
I'm much like you - if something is useful to me I don't mind spending the money, but I want the best value for that money. Often that's second hand (or refurb) but if its better value I'll buy new. I've never found new to be better value for phones or cars though:).
You're half right. Status symbols have value to YOU. Personally I value utility and aesthetic value. Not only is status value pointless to me, but it doesn't even help define someone's status. Not since even those with the lowest status can buy status symbols on credit (and often do). Does a big luxury car mean you are rich and successful or are you scraping by with debt up to the eyeballs? I don't know, or care.
But keep buying those expensive new products - as I already said, I need you to supply the second hand market.
Good for you. I do all those things on my phone as well and it cost me £150. But then I also paid £5000 for my last car and it did me well for 12 years (before I needed more room than an executive saloon could offer). Whose fault is it if you're paying over the odds for your phone AND your car?
I like people like you - because without you I couldn't buy top of the range goods for pennies on the pound.
Because nobody makes a profit = communism = fall of society

My grandpa was a dab hand at steering with his knees while he lit his pipe. If he needed to change gears he'd do the clutch and I'd push the stick.
Deal

Have you started shooting back yet?

Won't someone think of the children!

Clearly :)
You misunderstand the adage. It doesn't state that the answer will be 'no' - it simply states that the answer 'can' be 'no'. It proves nothing.
Kill the wabit
You're not meant to smoke them. Try snorting them instead.
Just ignore that class then. I mean how hard can that be - a class is what, max 30 or 40 people? Jeez Louise!
Yup. http://www.trumpgolfscotland.c...
I oppose these because they interfere with the wind for my kites
And like your cars, sitting at a bar with a $20k watch on your wrist does attract a lot of attention from women.
Not woman I'd like to meet. Each to their own though.

Hey, there are people above telling us that if we can't afford an iPhone at $1200 we should do some soul searching.
You tell him! Stinking poor person! Who let him in? Have him ejected at once and everyone check their wallets.
