Well, you should try APT for RedHat/Fedora and you will get the almost perfect apt packaging system.

I tried the newest development version of Fedora Core and it worked fine with the nvidia drivers and my card.

  4. Failed? on Neo-Geo : The Game Console That Won't Die · · Score: 1

I don't think so. The Neo-geo bios is always running in every place, on arcade machines. There are LOTS of Games running, and they're the best choice for all the gamers I know. Specially the King Of Fighters games are the preferred fighting game for everybody I know.

IMHO, SNK make the best fighting games, like Fatal Fury series, King Of Fighting series, Last Blade, Samurai Showdown, ... There's a place here in town that I always go, and while the King Of Fighters machine is always occupied by someone, the "Capcom vs. Street Fighter" machine running a dreamcast is always empty... Playability is all! The fancy graphics aren't always the best choice...

  5. Great Alternative! on AbiWord 1.0.1 Released · · Score: 1

I saw this news and went to download it. This was my first time seeing this word processor, and I have to admit that I'm a bit impressed! :) I work for the government here in my city, and I'm caring to use convert people to use only free-software. A Word Processor is crucial for this to happen, and I saw AbiWord as a great alternative! The only major problem is that it doesn't have tables (yet), so I'm looking forward to it! Now I'm very interested in the project, and I'll spend a short time of my work with translating it into my language (Brazilian Portuguese).

If the "higher" people here get happy with this kind of solution, they'll spend some money on donations, instead of software licenses, and that's my objective!

  6. Anime rules :) on Tenchi on Cartoon Network · · Score: 1

I don't know who you guys really are. Rob have done something wrong, but it's now fixed. Just stop complaining! Anime is pretty cool and I simply love it. You can taste some Anime on the Cartoon Network channel but there are several fansubs that made these animes avaible to everybody, subtitled and original, so you can buy the tapes from them. Also, you could pick some stuff on IRC channels.

Tenshi is a very good Anime and the nudity isn't a big deal. Edited Animes are really bad, I don't like the idea of cutting parts from them... This sucks and must stop :/ Anyway, the CN will not stop with it.

BTW, if you don't like anime, please shut up.

  7. Slackware Packaging on SlackWare 4.0 is available · · Score: 1

I'm happy with the new Slackware 4.0, but i'm still unhappy with Slackware Packaging. I compile everything i need for slack, but is it good?

When you need to upgrade some lib on Slackware, you don't find a .tgz PKGTool compatible, and you get the source. When you compile the source and install the binaries, you dont have all results best, because it will overwrite some things and maybe it will not be compatible with other things.

As you install packages on pkgtool (.tgz), you dont have any backup, and you may lost your files...

I like Slackware so much, and i tried other dists too, but im still unhappy with Slackware Packaging :) Patrick, create a powerful packaging tool for us, Slackware Linux users :)

(sorry for some english errors ;)
