I find this could be of some concern too, but it does one well to remember that while the US spent millions on finding an acceptable re-entry coating, the Russians discovered that it required nothing more than a mixture of epoxy and oak sawdust to achieve the same results.

Uh, no. Reasonable action would be for the RIAA to quietly approach them and try to come to an agreement first, before they bring out the Big Guns. If the RIAA keeps up this kind of heavy-handed tactic it will surely start raising some congressional eybrows.

Bostonian, New England, New York, Southern (including Alabaman, Georgian), Cajun, Mid-Western (the 'neutral' accent), and we shouldn't forget 'Valley Speak' and Ebonics.

In fact, after living in Florida for a few years now, I've noticed a speech pattern distinctive to Miamians.

Well, they specifically said it is a dedicated server. That means that they have leased it, just like you would lease a car. Maintenance, upkeep and system administration is solely the lessors responsibility.

Visit Cobalt's website, subscribe to Cobalt's lists, especially the announce list.
Search the user list archives and discover the unholy number of folks that have been hacked through BIND because they didn't upgrade.

The fact is, they leased it. It is they're responsibility for the upkeep. It would be a different story if they leased web space, but they didn't.

Leasing a dedicated server does not absolve you of system administration, but exactly the opposite!

The rate listed seems perfectly reasonable. Even a little guy could easily afford it up to the 6th year. If he can't make any money from it by then, it was probably a crappy idea anyway. If he is making money then he can milk it quite a few more years.

On the other hand, if Big Corp. makes a butt load off it - good for them, but it'll cost them if they want to get greedy.

Either way, it guarantees that after an acceptable period the idea will eventually end up in public domain where it belongs.

If on a linear time scale you compared an Ice Age to a meter, a Temperate Age lasted only about a centimeter.

Its got to make you wonder about the whole argument today.

The question imbodied in the article was "were we headed for an Ice Age or not?" The conclusion was "We don't know. But what we do know is that Mother Nature is going to kick us around a lot more that she has in the last few hundred years."
