    OK, I was going to mention coming across something about an octopus moving across a table from one tank to another. I thought it was a discovery channel flashback or something. I guess I read your previous post and it stuck in the dim recesses of my mind.

    I do remember seeing a show featuring a two chambered octopus tank with a spiral tube about 5cm across linking the upper chamber of the tank to the lower. Despite the fact that the tube was much smaller than the octopus, the animal was able to move between the chambers at will.

    And the "fraud" part of "credit card fraud" is... you guessed it, passing yourself off as the card holder. Credit card fraud is merely a particular form of identity theft.

    Someone managed to duplicate my bank card and pin number and take $1000 from my account. The bank reimbursed my money. Policy is set on an institution by institution basis. If your bank won't reimburse you, then maybe you should shop around.

    Quite a few places (especially in the asian computer shops I've been in) charge less for cash purchases than for credit card purchases.

    IE is part of the Windows Operating System so that parts of the OS and other applications can rely on the functionality and APIs being present

    To be clear there are no Operating System APIs that IE uses that are not documented on MSDN as part of the platform SDK and available to other browsers and any other software that runs on Windows.

    In other words, all the undocumented APIs are embedded in IE?

    Cash is more secure from the point of view that someone who takes your cash, takes only your cash. But someone who takes your credit/debit/ATM card can drain your bank account, max out your credit card, and possibly do even more evil.

    OPP is Ontario Provincial Police. The sky is blue because shorter wavelengths of light get scattered more than longer wavelengths (and because, if the sky were white, we couldn't see the clouds), and Vietnam is a country in South-East Asia. None of that answers my questions, though.

    n(n-1)/2=(n^2)/2-n/2 As n grows large, the effect of the n/2 term becomes neglegible. So, for large n, n(n-1)/2 is approximately equivalent to n^2

    The interference pattern for spatially separated slits is spread out along the dimension that the slits occur in. So does this mean that the interference pattern in this experiment is spread out over time?
