With new modern recycling methods we can remove almost all the re-useable stuff out of computers, so what 'US junk' is china preventing from entering the country.

I mean if they were trying to block old 486's from coming in, why don't they let them in and build a Beowulf parallel tasking computer that would rival that of NASA's supercomputers.

Or perhaps this is just china trying to say 'we don't need the USA. The USA needs us. We are in control' as china is shipping us tons and tons of computer parts, and etc that will be 'junk' within the year.

If you don't try, you will never gain the opportunity to fail.

If Lucas is a greedy as everyone makes him out to be, then it would make sense to release as many different versions onto DVD as possible. This would allow us geeks to get the version of start wars we want, while still appeasing the general public with the digitally modified and improved version. This might even result in lower prices if there are 3 DVD's of each movie put out (Original, Special edition, post Episode III modified version).

As much sense as this makes, perhaps this will just be a oversight to Georges greed, and he will just go on and release whatever he wants, completely ignoring everyone.

In my opinion the day that Lucas finally allows the people that understand star wars to work on the movie, will be a great day of celebration on slash dot, however that day might come when George dies

Well, caffeine molecules absorb free radicals... Then again, caffeine is a mutagen...

Caffeine absorbs free radicals, so there is less stuff that is likely to damage DNA (cancer is Damage to DNA, and the process that regulates cell division)

However without adenosine regulating sleep (and body regeneration), you could only wonder what more short term problems are more likely to happen then Cancer

    As for mutations
Caffeine is a "base analogue" of Adenine, and in fact can sometimes be incorporated into a growing DNA chain, instead of Adenine. Caffeine is a weak mutagen, for this reason. From http://fusionanomaly.net/caffeine.html

Caffeine can be used IN DNA yet another use, but digressing, the damage that could be caused by caffeine possibility replacing C/G/T in DNA with pseudo-A could be immense, but I am yet to here of a story that mentions Caffeine as the major cause of cancer, or another genetic-based disorder

A law like this could reduce the internet bandwith signifigantly, and allow legitiment users to gain faster access to the services they desire.

On Windows systems there are many 'shredder' tools such as Norton Wipespace that go along and 0 fill all the unused space on a machine

And when you delete a file what happens is the files entry in the rootsector is removed, the rootsector has a list of all files on the drive (that the OS knows about) and where they are. It can also hold other information such as in FAT32 filesystems the official filesize is 8.3 (a clone of fat16) but using a 'comment' sector of the root and other 245 or so odd bytes are stored.

A way to get around the normal FBI or investagtor problems searching in your disks without getting in trouble (for not giving pword) is to get a laptop that has security hard drives. These drives will only work when connected to that computers BIOS. And you can do your work on the laptop, take the hard drive out, and hide the laptop until problems blow over
