I beleve that they have stopped production of halon, but their is still stock, just like R12 that used to be used in car A/C. Many people I know have halon extinguishers in their cars, an when I get another air-cooled car it will have a installed halon system .
Yeah but check out this one. A Porsche 550 Spyder replica that can be fitted with almost as much power. Also it is lighter and corners much better. for around $40 grand I would take one if I had the money. It would make for a great autocross/Drivers Ed. car.
And what about the heavy vehicles that can't stop in 3 seconds?? I hope you have several million to start buying tractor trailer tires, because they won't stand for that. They have shut whole states down before.
When the maximum weight moved from 68000 lbs to 80000 lbs California decided not to allow the heaver trucks and was going to inforce the 68000 lbs max weight. The truckers said fine, we just won't haul to or from CA. California very quickly backed down and allowed the heaver trucks.
Actually they probably havn't even thought about it. This is the same problem that Germeny had in WWII. They forgot to factor in the problem of the world had more military power than the axis countrys. The axis powers were hoping that the US wouldn't get involved in the war, because they knew that the US would shift the balance of power greatly on the side of the Allies.
Just a something to think about. Those who don't study history are doomed to repeat it.

Get any of the VW TDIs. 40+MPG, uses the cleaner burning Diesel fuel, and has a good power curve.
