It was done TO the US, by France. The DGSE stole American trade secrets for the benefit of French countries. I really don't see why we consider them "allies", they screw us every chance they get.
All I have to do is walk outside my apartment to get all the damn foreigners I can handle. They all come here! I would have to travel to get away from them!
How is Mexico not empty yet??
Unlike JFK I think people should always question "what the state can do for them" rather than ask "What can I do for the state?"
The purpose of the state is to do what is best for the citizenry as a whole. Thus, policies may be applied to you that you find distasteful, but are good for the country. If you do your part as a citizen, your country will prosper. If you are always looking for what serves you best and be damned to the rest of the country, your country will degenerate, which makes it worse for you anyway. So you see, your greediness works against you.
So get a real job. The company pays for my health, dental, and life insurance. Plus I opted for a nifty little rollover account that funnels pre-tax money into a flexible medical fund, such that any procedures not covered by regular medical are paid out of that. Of course, if you're working at the kwickie-mart, you're out of luck, but you're expendable anyway.
At the very least, all government agencies should require that the formats in which they store information are completely OPEN and FREELY AVAILABLE for anyone to implement.
That's a fairly naive way of looking at things. I'm pretty sure the CIA, FBI, MI5, MI6, DGSE, FSB, and GRU would want an exception from your mandate...
I had forgotten all about good ol' Kings Quest. And Quest for Glory, all that good primitive crap I used to love. [Sigh]
Ah well, back to Neverwinter Nights...
Looking at the bit in the middle...the way they formatted it, it looks like they had a fit of poetry. The meter's a bit confused, but overall it stands as free verse. I dub it, "The Blood Clot."
So rare it was never released. The game was finished, but the NES was at its end, so they scrapped it and remade it for the SNES. Somebody got hold of the rom, ripped it, and now you can play it on an emulator.
Why not just get a PlayStation2 then? Final Fantasies 1 through 6 are available as roms, Linux has SNES and NES emulators, and the PS2 can handle 7 through 11.
First off, thier submarines are diesel powered. We'd hear them coming from miles away. Our navy's subs use the Mk48 ADCAP torpedo, which has a longer range than anything they've got, ergo, they lose.
Next point, surface vessels. We actually got to see the inside of a few, back in the Clinton administration when things were so chummy. The insides of chinese ships are partitioned with plywood, can you believe it? One good hit and they'd burn like a boxkite!
No, I don't think we have anything at all to worry about. Let 'em bring it, we could use the target practice. (And I mean that... our slogan should be, "We kill more of our own guys before 8am than the enemy does all day.")
Remember that China is communist, and that Marxism/Leninism (to which the Chinese Gov't subscribes) espouses the overthrow of all non-communist governments via "armed revolution".
You can't think of communist goals in terms of gain, that is a capitalist concept. You must think in terms of what the ideology demands in order to understand their motivations.
Most of the posts are concerned about just having a job at all, rather than whether or not you get to run things. I'm a gubmint contractor myself, and the pay is good. ($70,000/year)
Besides, you can "run things" if you just take some initiative. We're making some technical leaps out of the stone age on our project, and I volunteered to help some of our crustier programmers get with the program. I don't get paid any extra money for doing this, but it does raise my reputation a few points. Perhaps if I keep on like this, I'll be a team lead before too long. Not bad for a kid a few years out of school.
Don't forget the exploding manhole covers. It's like setting the difficulty on your commute from "normal" to "nightmare mode". However, a lot of tech workers in this area (DC/MD/NoVA) work in the Dulles Corridor, which is far enough away from the District to feel comfortable. It's quite nice, in fact.
If you do wind up in DC though, take heart, it's not all bad. The strip clubs (unregulated!) are to die for.;-)
Wouldn't it be so easy for M$ to line the pockets of those who sit on DoD and Intelligence oversight committees?
Not that your average politico knows jack about OS's in general, but that just makes it easier to go with the default.

If you're working on company equipment and being paid for your time, then anything you do is the IP of the company.

Seriously though, if you need an hour to separate junk mail from real mail, you might want to review that superior attitude of yours.
Ew, I feel dirty.
Dammit, beat me to it.

Are they sure they ought to be jumping on it like that?
Given that, what are your opinions about Iraq? ^_^
It's a little dated, but it still applies.
Are Users Stupid?
