Dont hold your breath. I doubt we will see one here in the USA until 2013. That said, I'm also hoping for one, but i wont delude my self thinking it will happen soon.
Oh, and i prefer the touch screen since i rarely have to 'type' ( its a reader, not a data entry system ), so the extra real estate sucked up by the keypad is annoying. Its one of the reasons why i eventually 'traded' my kindle Gen1 to a Nook Touch instead of a gen 3 kindle ( that and the nook was rootable )
You don't see me doing it beacuse i am no longer a child and can afford real balloons now.
And before you continue on your uninformed rant i did something similar 40 years ago, in GRADE SCHOOL ( not highschool as i couldn't afford 'real' balloons. The helium to go in it was hard enough on an allowance at that age ( of course we didn't have fancy GPS or WIFI cameras to put on them, only 8mm.. Oh and trash bags make great kite material, along with hollow aluminum tubing for bracing )
While the cool factor to see it in a room humming away is way off the scale, this is 2011, we don't really need to build it in the physical world just to *prove* something works.
Just model it in a proper 3D CAD and emulate it.. It also would let one iron out the kinks before you send the prints to get the parts machined.
Sure you can agree to anything via a blind EULA, but that doesn't mean its enforceable if what they are demanding isn't legal in the first place. And i would assume preemptively giving up the right to sue would qualify.
Using trash bags as balloons is nothing new, or innovative. Its a bag that holds stuff.. making a balloon out of them ( or using them to restrain a bunch of smaller balloons ) is just common sense.
Speaking as someone in the last stages of preparing content for publication, I'm seriously leaning towards dropping plans for a Kindle edition because of this.
Can you even disconnect it from your car if it comes built in, without paying someone at the least ( or rendering parts of your car non operational at worst )?
So what? If you are telecommuting and don't have video, what difference does it make what you are wearing.
I also think the true number is far lower. This sounds like the beginnings of a gartner scam to get people to come into the office and claim it was their idea
its tied to the carriers network, and you are ultimately under their control by contract.
I don't doubt this source withholding has a lot to do with carriers demands on Google, much as a lot of the restrictions with Iphones were demanded by AT&T..
I just hope this does not spell the end of e-ink in favor of LCD. Each has their use, and i refer reading on e-ink any day. ( tho i want color... ).
It wont be a dedicated e-book reader, it will be a generic media delivery device, including books, movies, games, music, magazines and news papers..

I doubt it. it will just be a 'feature' that you aren't told about and cant turn off.
Thankfully you can still look at the map yourself and skip the 'helpful' directions. Too bad its getting hard to find a paper map..

Sounds like you are calling far too many people to have time to be doing calculations.
That is why i added the qualifier 'proper'. Most good CAD systems these days can do that.

Here in the USA *everything* is copyrighted by default. Its all about the terms.. Many would be freely usable.
Copyright by itself does not restrict use.

Using them as kites isn't even new..
You can always get a small ARM tablet and hook up the HDMI to a monitor if it's the full size display and keyboard you're missing.
That is my thought ( and what I'm doing ), so really ARM is already ( back ) on the desktop.
One advantage to having it on your desktop is that you could have the same 'stuff' in your hand ( phone ) and desktop.
Hes just an idiot.
Tho, don't libraries still get a discount on what they purchase? "oh no, i wont publish in print either beacuse its not fair"
Speaking as someone in the last stages of preparing content for publication, I'm seriously leaning towards dropping plans for a Kindle edition because of this.
Good.
Ok, and that is a problem how? That is part of their business model, selling the 'portal' to more sales.
As long as they don't pull anything funny with the libraries its a good thing.

I get out fine. Haven't seen a casio product in years.
5.25 and 8" will fare much better over the years as they weren't pushing magnetic technology. as far

its one of the things you can afford to have when you are sitting on that much of a stock pile of money.
its all about the long-term.
They still are around and sell stuff? That there is the true news story here.
And just because they pay doesn't mean its valid, it may just not be cost effective to fight.

What the hell was the i960 then? Meatloaf?
For now.
Just call it lunch and be happy.
