A lot depends on how often you shop:).. We shop every couple of weeks and it runs about 100.
Sure we *could* reduce it, but we are pretty average folk so i can safely say that around here its an average shopping bill, so the delivery minimum order issue, isnt.
I'll stick to my setup of a dedicated server and virtual private servers across the globe rather than putting all my eggs in one basket with Amazon and "cloud computing"!
I hope that was sarcasm and you really are not that stupid.
Why in my day, we had to buy our own graphing calculators
Tho we didn't have fancy ones like that available on the market back when i was in middle school and only had 'scientific' ones, the same principle applied: If i wanted one, either i cut grass to pay for it or conned my parents in to it. i wasn't 'given' one by the 'state' ( tax payers ). We also rented our books, for a small fee. If this isn't shades of socialism, i don't know what is.
This has nothing to do with a 'police state'. It has everything to do with companies getting more and more data about so they can 'improve' their marketing.
Its all about trying to sell you more products, nothing more. That the police can use it too is just collateral damage.
1 - they aren't the problem the network is 2 - they are not the only game in smart phones.
For some reason i have been getting the feeling that AT&T wants to kill the iphone market off. I suspect its so they can introduce more android phones that they can control with an iron fist and not have to deal with Apple's wishes at all.
Advantage to the early adopters: some of us still have that glorious "unlimited 3G" plan. Yay! FYI: they're transferrable.
I have one of them too, but i do expect that to go away at some point in the near future. They CAN change the TOS on a whim or just say "that contract is no longer availble, so you have to renew to a capped plan"
Now that there is no regulation that requires it, *all* the carriers were shorting the expansion of the networks to accommodate future need and pocketing the cash.
Is pretty damned effective since the plastic shatters as it is cut ( unlike paper ). And if that isn't enough for you, burn what is left over a open fire, with some marshmallows.
I can see arguing if the 'look and feel' of the UI is the same, but come on, 'square with rounded corners and a border' ??? Even if they were the first to market with a tablet ( which they are not ) its still stupid.
No, in a properly run network you don't have random open ports to plug in to. If there isn't a device currently plugged in that is authorized, the port is OFF. Leaving open hardware ports "laying around" is a huge risk.
Now, that doesn't mean that you couldn't cheat and try putting a switch of your own on that one live port in your cube, but there are solutions to prevent that from being effective too.
It's all about targeted advertising, so no need for tinfoil hats here. ( there are plenty of reasons for them, just not here )

Around here a 80 dollar grocery bill isn't much food.
Some of the higher end specialty groceries have done this for decades. It has worked for them and made them 'special'.

Things such as 'shared roads' are not considered socialism, but instead a cost of being part of a organized society.
And yes, i did go to a private school.
Sometimes there isn't a "right answer" for everyone.
Agreed, but in some cases there is one answer, like with 3D. Its a scam, for everyone.
Or adding features.... It could go both ways.

Theft doesn't pay? Tell the criminals in congress that. Tell the *AA that..
It does pay, for them.
Gotta love the subliminal attack against Apple.

No, it took them 4+ years to admit it.
Terrible service? Depends on what area you are in. AT&T service is just fine where i live.
It doesn't have to beat them. there are tons of iOS devices out there now, with more flying off the shelves every day.
Plenty of revenue potential on its own.
Wouldn't that alone be a crime?

Will nullify this stupid argument?

So everyone that has any black in their print must pay me.
If this isn't the silliest ting i have heard in a long time i don't know what is.

Whitelist an unknown server because some guy down the hall said he was a "good guy" and promises its safe?
Glad i don't work where you do.
Where i am he would have been fired on the spot for pulling that stunt.
You mean the 'free cloud' is not a good place to rely on. Paid cloud space is as 'permanent' as you want it to be.
This just goes to show you they have not learned yet that tying your client ( browser ) into your OS at that level is bad thing for security.
1 - Monopolies are bad
2 - Total Power breeds Total Corruption by its nature.
I don't care if we think Google is good today, that can change tomorrow and do you want them owning 1/2 the planet when they do turn 'corporate'?
