I think the majority of folks don't want to listen to their "own" music via streaming (that's what flash-memory is for)
I disagree, being able to stream your own collection means you can save that precious flash for something else. What is in your phone isn't unlimited, but what you have at home, is.
ISPs are in the business of providing internet access, but they don't own the internet; any attempts to eliminate net neutrality would violate our consumer rights and hurt the economy.
They own and control the access points. Many also own the higher level links. Some even own vast chunks of the content flowing across it.. So yes, in effect they do 'own the internet'.
But i do agree they need to be slapped down before things get more out of hand. In today's society the internet is more like a public utility, much like electricity became long ago, and should be treated as such. Not really 'required' for life, but modern life without it would be difficult at best.
To hell with China's rights as a sovereign nation, we are the good guys, we know best. If they did that to us,we would be up in arms ( and rightfully so ), lets hear it for being hypocrites. Go team!
Rapists and murders don't effect the media giant's revenue stream. In fact they enhance it due to 'made for TV movies' and pseudo 'news commentatry' shows that come out of the drawn out court cases.
It just doesn't matter. You are expected to secure your wifi and not doing so isn't a blanket excuse. If it were then everyone would leave their wifi open and there would be no suits.
Of course it matters, as it inserts 'reasonable doubt' into the equation. There are also viruses, etc that factor into this.
Just beacuse they THINK i did something wrong does not make it true, and they need to prove it was *me*. I am speaking from expirence to the extent that years ago my Linux based router ( back in the dialup days, not recently ) was hacked into and was turned into a Russian porn IRC bot for a day ( it was quickly discovered and remedied, and I notified the next guy in the chain as a good citizen ). But who knows what could have happens for those 8 hours or so. Major corporations are hit to, it really can happen to the best of us.
The only thing i'm guilty of if i get hacked is violating my AUP with my ISP. Its not much different than if someone steals my locked car and uses it in a crime. I didn't commit a crime.
That was my first thought too, it looks rather fragile. One of those military walking bots would be more appropriate i think.
But its still a great idea for those who really cant get out into the 'world'. Its not a replacement for real life, but its a good step in the right direction for them.
Give it up hell. If I'm not a convicted drunk driver they have ZERO business testing me every time i get in my car. It IS an invasion of my rights, regardless of any 'tracking' that may or may not occur.
As a private citizen that has not been convicted nor under court ordered investigation, i refuse to have my rights invaded.
Wear glove, then you don't get to drive your car. Its not like they really give a damn if you are cold or not. They want to invade your privacy and control your daily life, at all costs.
I agree, but its only an issue if when they go to court that he loses. During the case, its normal for restraining orders to be granted while things are sorted out, even against the people that win.
Lets hope the real law will prevail, and GeoHot counter sues for damages afterward.
Umm other platforms installs are counted in the MILLIONS.. how can you call 100k a 'win' ?
But not afford to get, or use, with how things are going.
Would the frog finally notice it's been boiling?
Nothing will happen. The frog is already dead.

But you forget that the media giants are buying laws so its considered criminal. ( so that tax dollars are used instead of their own )
It already is if they trump up the dollar amounts.
Are relative.

No future.
While being able to read and count *is* important, if all we do is rehash what we have now, we become stagnant then die.
But at least they did it before you bought your phone, not afterward.

"maintenance" activity should be skimmed off the top and included in your plan as uncharged data.
Its only relevant if you dont have unlimited data....
BBS's will return when bandwidth is so heavily restricted, and content 100% monitored.
I hope you enjoy your toaster, and paying per slice of bread.
Oh, and if you want to toast an eggo, that requires a different license.
If they even ask. They are just as liable to blow up your building on the spot and not worry about 'asking'.
is 'forever payments'.. Which 'the cloud' can bring if you are dumb enough to rely on it in this manner.

Instead of Viagra ads, how about we just spam millions with instructions on how to hack the PS3.. That will piss off Sony and see that its pointless.
Just like when the RIAA attacked Napster expecting a cakewalk, the resulting press coverage let the genie out of the bottle.
But the power you get with money trumps everything.
But your attempted search is reported to the government.
