No, but sue enough people that the next guy might be afraid of doing what should be allowed. Even if he goes to court and is proven innocent, he still will be bankrupted.
Is returning to an internet drain to you, like the good old days. It's one sure way to kill off the golden goose.
Still reminds me of drug dealers. Make it almost free until you get used to it, then stick it to you. You cant convince me for a second that the telcos didn't have this planned a decade or 2 ago, once society and commerce was nearly reliant on data.
And regardless of the scam, how can one honestly charge when you cant control what is coming in? Its like charging for a art magazine differently each month depending on who took the pictures that time, and not even telling you until after you have been billed. Internet should be considered a public utility at this point due to its importance to the very infrastructure of the country. The price fixed and regulated and service monitored. ( and i hate government intervention )
Right. Why fix what isn't broken in a panic. Sure, make it a long term goal to move away from it, as realistically someday it wont be supportable as the pool of people slowly shrink, but don't flip out and convert it into today's latest and greatest language.
COBOL is stable, and has been proven by the test of time. For projects like this you want its successor to do the same.
I still remember in school how 'pascal is the next thing and its all you ever need to learn..'. ya, that worked out real well and it wasn't exactly a new language either. Glad i refused to limit myself with it and learned other things too.
Seriously, do they care if they become the 'next to fade out'? They made their billions, and if their company fades away they can just do something else that is fun to them. No real skin off their nose, so to speak.
Its due to the fact you have tons of models from many carriers to choose from. With the iPhone, you basically have 1 choice for both.
Sort of what happened to VHS and Betamax... the better product lost out due to Sony's lack of willingness to license out and keep control over it ( until it was too late ).
While i do agree capacitive screens are much nicer, it doesn't mean old-tech resistive screens are junk. Just picked up a sub 200 dollar 7" device last week, a 15 dollar 8gb SD, and it seems to be just fine.
But i do agree, there is a lot of garbage out there so you do have to do your homework first.
Since when is that a requirement for daily life? Why do i have to prove anything if i want to read some free content on a web page? Do i have to prove who i am to read a book at the library? No. Do i have to prove who i am when i buy a news paper and read it on the side walk? No. They why this?
All this is for is to track what we all do, to look for 'signs'..
Because its too much $. At least for me. While i would rather have one, I can get a decent Android tablet for under 200. If the ipad was down to 300 id have chosen that instead.
Its not a 'reqiurement' to have one so the budget comes into play for some of us.
Personally there are a lot of people out here that do not think of their cars as an extension to their living room, and the actual driving expirence is what matters. Even power steering is frowned upon.
Too bad the automakers that cater to that audience these days is way out of the price range of us mere mortals:(
Sure, he can be banned from the casino and be charged with trespassing if he returns but to be charged with a crime for using the software as the casino provided to its patrons is just wrong? Its their fault its not what they wanted, as he just played the game they offered to him.
WTF? Isn't getting raked over the coals for your monthly bill enough?
Just because you can, doesn't mean you have to. We don't need to 'electroinfy' everything we see.
As always, people not following proper procedures.
No, but sue enough people that the next guy might be afraid of doing what should be allowed. Even if he goes to court and is proven innocent, he still will be bankrupted.
Sure they tested, but they had unlimited corporate test accounts so they didn't really care..
Perhaps that means they will compete for business and we consumers will win?
I know, fat chance but we can still wish.. right?
Don't forget windows is now running on ARM..
And again, my question: Does the founder really care? To me the story was about the founders, not the investors.
They got theirs, screw the rest of ya.

Amazon has already removed them from our kindles..
As you have to be a *insert this months bad term here* if you have even thought of reading what they had to say.

Or get a nice tablet now, and upgrade to 3.0 when it happens.
How stupid do you and the government think we are?
I don't think they really care. How long has it been since the government really cared what we think?

Well, i guess not technically a 'card' but ill still pass. I don't wish to be tracked to that level, so take your draconian ideas and shove it.

So in effect, cementing the power for the people with the money.
They didn't host the game, in full or part. They hosted a link to it.

I bet he will win the case in the end.
Good thing i refuse to have those options in my car.
