We spent NINETEEN BILLION DOLLARS on a chat program.
Which is most likely why they are dropping development on 'desktops'. They see chat on desktops being web, and the future of chat in general will be via mobile devices, as that market is already huge and still growing by leaps and bounds.
Are they right? Who knows, but its a sound concept.
Well, they are the largest social networking provider out there, so when they make major changes that will effect a large group of people i would think that would qualify as something that matters.
Did you know EVERY IM service commonly in use requires your text messages to pass through their servers, before they reach the recipient?
One can debate 'commonly used', but regardless there are options to either avoid that, or endpoint encryption so it wont really matter if you do pass thru a 3rd party server along the way. One option is Jabber.
Will need that too, to compete. Plus a useful directory.. And most average people want to talk to people they know, sort of blows staying anonymous on a large scale.
If you had any reading comprehension at all, i did say 'move' was an option. That would imply you move to where you dont disagree with the law. ( or in your case, your parents rules )
Not a problem, you sound like you want your employees to work themselves to death and not be compensated properly: "remember folks its not about the money"
BS, as an employee it IS about the money.
If you are independently wealthy and running your own company, perhaps it isn't all about the money ( but it is often still a HUGE factor ), but as a person who needs to work for a living, you are damned right its about the money.
Correct. Its about intentionally setting the crowd off down the road with a command to go riot. If people choose to riot on their own after a speech, no matter how heated it may be, well, that is the way it goes.
No kidding. We also have more presence helping the rest of the world as well. ( one can debate if we are helping or not, but the point remains we are there.. and that takes resources )
In general i am not for reducing our military as the world is a dangerous place and i dont want to be caught with our pants down, but if it means we can stop mucking about with ungrateful piss-ant counties, then ill get on board.
But back on topic, that is a good move on Ford's part as there is NO reason to be running a commodity OS on embedded hardware, like in a car. ( and no, Microsoft calling it an embedded OS is not enough to make it one ).
If you dont want to expend the cost to write your own, QNX is a good choice.
This caused at least on death: a worker who was torquing a bolt while building the first Saturn car factory snapped the head off a bolt and fell to his death.
While still a bad thing, this should never have happened. He should have been wearing redundant safety gear so that no matter what failed, he would have been safe.

Well, they ARE the bad guy.
"404".. in effect. They dont want to take responsibility for censorship.
"How can you be so delusional that you think you are still relevant in 2014?"

Maybe, but life isn't all about one's career.
It is now.

Careers are all about money. It cant be better if you are losing income in the process. It can be different, but not *better*.
Where do i sign up?
For some it would be a way to add a layer to hide your real email account. But i agree, most wouldn't care.
I am sure they just didn't have enough users to make it cost effective.
Hate speech should be protected. Inciting a riot, ill give you that one.
Violate local laws, get censored. Dont like the laws, move and/or get them changed.

Is it really "catching up" when its the wrong direction to head in the first place? "Both are falling behind" sounds better to me.
When did this happen?

And why is yours better than another's?

No, but when you buy from off-shore vendors and they ship back fake parts, it can hurt when a plane falls out of the sky.
They all suck. What is your point?
This Muslim is not alone in considering the current plans for suicide missions to be ethically problematic.
And that is why religion should be banned. Now.
And if you honestly equate relocating to a harsh environment as suicide, you are an idiot should be banned too.
And they are correct. Pansy ass.
