  1. Even if innocent on Hans Reiser Interview on ABC's 20/20 · · Score: 2, Insightful

Even if he is innocent, and proven as such during the trial, his life is ruined. Rather effective if you believe this was orchestrated by the wife to get back at him in revenge.

Revenge is common in bad divorces, and this smells like revenge to me.

  2. Todays Juries on Hans Reiser Interview on ABC's 20/20 · · Score: 2, Insightful

Today juries as a whole tend not to be intelligent enough to know what facts are, and are swayed purely by their emotions that are played upon by the attorneys. Who ever puts on the best show wins for the most part.

Dont believe me? Who has time to sit for weeks on a jury? Most often its people that dont have regular jobs or a family to support, so the odds of getting an idiot is pretty high. ( not always of course, but the % is higher )

Good luck with that. While i agree totally, that would not keep us on the perpetual upgrade treadmill that modern day corporate wants to maintain.

If you are on the premisses of a private business, you *dont* have a right to use your phone. Period, end of legal story. ( you can take your business elsewhere of course, but you have zero legal leg to stand on )

Remember when we didnt have cell phones hanging out of everyones ears? If you were in an emergency you would actually have to ask for help from the staff. And you know what, they would help or call 911 for you and assistance would arrive.

Stop being a crybaby and making excuses for being yet another rude cell phone user.

Besides, the Altair/Ismai "appearance" is logical when you have no way to get your data/code into the box and still want it 'general purpose'. It only makes sence to have direct control of the bus.

Remember when they first came out, a ROM based bootstrap was still the stuff of dreams for many people.

    But still impressive.

Most peope these days dont even know what a CPU really is, other then 'quad bla bla bla superduper socket bla bla' from intel or amd.

Once upon a time, this is how it was done. Stuff like this should be mandatory for all CS students ( might be still for the few of us EE's out there, but ive not been in school for a LONG time so things could be different )

Last time i looked, in Indiana, yes there is additional punishment for escaping.

Oddly enough, this woman led a seemingly normal crime free life for 35 years. Perhaps she was innocent in the beginning like she claims, as its really hard for a criminal to go cold turkey.

Well, it USED to be that way, as being able to 'preview' would let me know i wanted to buy it. The risk of wasting 15 bucks with the style of music i listen to was great enough to prevent many purchases on sight only.

However, with the way they have been treating customers, and now knowing how little the artists get, in my case i stopped buying anything that is tied to the industry, and only buy indie music.

I still wonder if this was the plan all along, to just nudge the civilized world into self destruction on its own, or just an unexpected side effect worth exploiting. Either way its the same result, but i am curious.
