  1. Go save someone else on Can Tech Save Small Town America? · · Score: 2, Insightful

'Small towns' dont need your 'saving'. Some of us like 'small town America'. We moved away from the city for a reason. you can keep it, and your concepts to yourself and leave us alone. We dont need the crime, filth, taxes, traffic jams, etc.

Sure mod me down, but im not alone in my feelings.

What they are not thinking about is the ramifications later of pissing off the man. The government has a long memory. ( espcially since once you elect someone they tend to stay for life..

It doesn't matter if you run a couple of percentages faster if you aren't stable.

PPC is stable. Intel/AMD does not have a history of being stable with THIS architecture. The ix86 architecture was flawed from the day intel decided to put backwards compatibility on the top of the requirement list.

Not saying intel couldn't do better. Anyone remember the i432? They had the ability, but instead decided to go with a crippled chip.

Even the weather in many cities was a simple gopher away... And it wasnt hard at all to get on-line, if you were worthy enough. Dont forget there was a BBS in every corner of the civilized world. All it took was a dumb terminal and modem. Most of the time it didnt even cost you.

Mouseclicks to get you there? Well, you got me there i guess now that we have mice im all wet...

All kidding aside, i do agree there is more today then there was before, but there is far more garbage. As far as im concerned the garbage outweighs any of the 'advancements'.
