They reduced the quality of daily life, due to above point. With the goal of brining it down to their level, as they dont feel its 'fair' we have a 'better life' then they do.
They increased the general persons level of 'fear', and reduced our feeling of safety, and trust.
Who will be producing computers based on the PPC, except IBM for their big machines?
While this is nice, if they will effectively be unobtainable in a couple of years does it really matter that much? Or is *today* all that matters to people now?
I doubt this will wake Steve up and make him re-evaluate his move to ix86. One can hope, but i wont count on it.
1 - The average joe may not even know what he's connected too. So is he commiting a crime because YOU didnt secure your wireless? Last i heard it was legal to receive any transmissions that hit your property. ( Decrypting is another issue )
2 - Does this also make it a crime to intentionally share your wireless? And what about *public* wifi?
The 'computer experience' has advanced enough over the years to the point it does the job we ask of it.
Perhaps there isn't a whole lot left, except slow *evolution*. All the *revolutionary* concepts have come and gone. ( Much as its happened in life. you dont see much revolution now, its all about slow evolution of nature )
Furthermore, 'pretty' doesnt really matter in the business world ( the main PC market ). Functionality does.
Just what we need, yet another 'enterprise linux project'.
For the slow ones out there, that was sarcasm..
Guess its not a 'true' webapplication then..
Id protest too "hey morons, get it right next year". ( anonymously of course, you dont want to piss off the tax man )
Then something is fundamentally wrong here..
What is next? Are you are going to tell me Mickey has a roth retirement account, and Santa Claus uses SQL-ledger to manage his payroll?
They got a lot of press/attention.
They reduced our freedom.

Yep, just what they want.
Actually, i was talking a combination of both. Farther range with more people/materials.
I agree, for 'local trips' we can do both now, we just wont spend the money.
Most jobs arent even posted... So while you may get an estimate, its no where accurate enough to stake your future on.
This is the only way we are going to get into space in any worthwhile amount.
The tech has a long way to go of course, but its about time we actually started using the most powerful reaction we currently know about.
Yuk.
Not debating if its true or not, but what is your point?
I dont hear a project like BSD claim they are innovating. I do hear Microsoft doing that. That's my beef with the issue.
I totally disagree.
Innovation is the original process, not the subsequent process of copying.
Innovation is more revolutionary then evolutionary.
Is evolution important? Sure it is, but just dont claim you are innovating when you are mainly copying others work.
Do these people really believe this garbage?
90% of what Microsoft does was either copied ( and 'extended' ) from someone else, or just outright bought.
Will still eventually upgrade.. Can only put off the compatibility issue so long.
It creeps up on you slowly. First one vendor upgrades, then another, then you find you cant 'talk' to your customers, and voila.. you upgrade..
Happens to the best of us..
For the market that they are interested in keeping ( ie, big businesses ) a few bucks a year is nothing..
I was thinking more of not seeing PPC in consumer items. Thus the comment about IBM's big boxes
PPCs have a long life ahead in the 'back room'. But with apple moving on, it doesnt look good for them being on your desk.
Its hard enough to support more then one product based on the same platform.
Could you imagine supporting multiple platforms as well?
Didnt work out too well for IBM to do that..

Its for the kids remember.. Blah.
Fifth: Some are worth quite a bit of money these days..
Why not allow it? Its normal operating procedure here in the USA...
Nice to see they are catching up with us..
What is next? A Russian version of the DMCA and jailing people for listening to music in their car?
Personally, i think the rear chrome panel is the first thing that needs to be dealt with.
While it looks great out of the box, if you so much as breathe on it you scratch the hell out of it..
It better get my coffee too..
A cheap laptop would be a better choice.
Here recently, as a protest, truckers drove around our 'loop' at the posted speed one afternoon.
I hear the backup was several miles..
I really dont belive this is 'to reduce congestion'. Its more like 'get them use to even more intrusion into their lives'.
The 'computer experience' has advanced enough over the years to the point it does the job we ask of it.

Last i heard, nuclear powered flight was still banned..
Might have changed tho..
Wont be funny if it happens while you are dialing 911...
Or if your phone server decides its got a worm and is too busy spamming then letting you dial out..
( this goes for other products as well, not just microsoft. )
