Personally neither do I. *WE* are the only ones that count as far as im concerned beacuse I live here.
Now, before you all mod me as a troll, I also belive that you are within your rights to feel the same about wherever you live.. If you dont, perhaps you shouldnt be living there..
And to take that to the conclusion, if ones leader doesnt believe that his ocuntry comes first, I wouldnt want him to be in office.
Ya, trying to protect your country from attack/invasion isn't as important as keeping a probe going. Ya right, moron
If we get wiped off the face of the earth due to some wacko towelheads because we didn't take steps protect ourselves, its sort of irrelevant if the probe had funding or not.
While i was of course kidding about killing them, you do have to remember one point:
When you are convicted of a crime you lose many of your rights..
So even though it was a joke, its not that far-fetched of an idea.
1 - receive spam ( regardless of what format )
2 - find responsible parties
3 - kill them
4 - repeat until spam stops.
Swtiching to only cell phones wont stop them.... But it might cost you to get the calls. ( depending on your calling plan )
A simple old answering machine works here for me, if its a friend, they will talk to it. If its a telemarketer they wont.
While you are correct that more would be found if unix type sytems took the market away from Windows, the effects woudl not be the same.
Due to the way that unix works, most of the 'holes' that are found would only effect userspace, so its effects would not be as broad.
No, it means that your base is now so large that if you dont have proper tools and do it all manually you never get your job done.
Its got nothing to do with being lazy.
When you get into the thousands of desktops to manage, the tools that microsoft puts out saves your butt.
Could they be better? Sure they could. Do they work? Yep.
Until tools such as Zen, that many unix boxes to manage would be a nightmare.
But the court that is interpreting it now is manipulating and twisting the original founders intent far beyond what it was... just a thought.
I use webmin now, but you have to hit each machine independently which makes it rough when you have 100+ machines..
Yes, it does help..
I just hate to have to go out and start writing my own scripts, and we dont have the size to warrant the cost of the 'enterprise' packages.
Sorry, but a bunch of hacked up bash/perl/python/whatever scripts dont count.
I admit i dont mess with YAST as im not a SUSE fan, but does it allow remote admin of machines as well as local?
Im sure YAST wont support windows machines, which wont help.
Not faulting Novell at all, but are there any free alternatives for us small business people that really dont need ( or can afford ) Zen?
While this is a 'good thing' and need to give some credit to them, many of us are quite happy with the *free* offerings available today.
Yes, i agree that there is a reason. Its called greed, and 'i want'.
We dont *need* 95% of what we purchase in the first place.
Does the US trademark laws even have any relevance in Taiwan? It may not matter that this is a knock-off ( with more features )
Not that i expect you to read this, being an AC, but you are WAY off on that assumption in my case.
The reason he was remembered as a great american is due to all the good things he did in his life.
One's life should not be judged by one mistake.
I really doubt you have led a perfect life either.
While i wont deny it would take a bit of adjustment for most citizens, we dont NEED external trade at all.
We can provide for all our citizens needs locally.
Though we do need to kick out all these freeloaders that keep running across the boarders...
The government is most likely their largest customer, so why not give them preferred treatment?
And score brownie points in the process...
I thought it was always this way, for any 'service'..
By default Ive always assumed no privacy, unless i encrypt.
Personally neither do I. *WE* are the only ones that count as far as im concerned beacuse I live here.

But represnting the truth doesnt help their marketing plan..
This will have IBM specific tools, and recovery software that spans several CD's. Will also let you save users data...
Having been on the road doing service work this is a great thing. Lugging around a laptop and a box of cds is cumbersome.
Though back when i did it, you carried a box of floppies and your portable might have a 10MB drive, if you were lucky....

Retaining freedom costs lives AND money.
To the OS and user-land sofware, it wont know the difference between 2 cpu's and a dual core single.
True, there is no license fee for 'core' Linux, but if you run any of the VAR components of distribution X, there might be some licensing issues.
This is why we have freenet people..
