What is harmful? Shouldnt that be MY choice what is harmful for my child?
Remember too, that the definition of 'harmful' can/does/will change over time. Good example is the books that we read in school, FOR school reports, are now banned. Simply beacuse they are 'politically incorrect'..
The 'nanny state' takes another step forward.. ( if this passes )
The basic architecture is fundamentally flawed in today's 'consumer grade' computers. Using a strict Harvard architecture, where data is *separate* from code, would eliminate a lot of today's troubles.
Is it too late to change? Well, we have had new chips arise ( like power , or CELL ) so, its not impossible.. just difficult.

Its not 'corporate *america*' that is the problem.
Its corporations in general, *world wide*, who now have more power then small countries.
This of course doesnt mean governments are also an issue, but today it looks like the corporations are a much larger threat in general.
Dont blame the USA for a systemic world problem.
In this day and age, everyone does business this way.
No need to single out Apple for finally joining the crowd in order to stay afloat.
No, its just somewhere along the process, this isnt the beginning, nor the end..
But it IS happening.. More and more governmental and commerical 'control'..
Need to go back to the old direct dial BBS days..
Dont try to profit off of copyright infringement.
Until this took place, the industries really didnt notice, or care.. It just increased the market share in the long run.
If things had been kept 'free', with no commercial angle, there would have been no massive lasuits and attacks on our digital rights..
All of this nonsence sets a bad precident.
What happened to the 'data center edition' of NT/2000 ?
Last i heard that was also clusterable...
Personally, i dont care a bit. I used to care.
They have brought this upon themselves.
They have ( are ) treated customers like criminals.
They have ( are ) manipulated the market illegally.
Fuck them. Copy it all. They can all rot in hell.
You can be sued by anyone, for anything.
The question is, can you afford to fight it and not just give up and pay the man.
Its copyright infringement..
A tax is ever a good thing.
So what is going to be the legal definition of 'Journalist' ?
Personally anyone that is 'reporting' either facts or opinions to the public should be considered a journalist.
Will this become yet another 'club' that takes either lots of cash, or special friends to join?
They are watching the other industries duke it out with their customers.. waiting to see how it comes out..
Seems the people with points today dont understand the concept of sarcasm..
No, I'm serious. Wouldn't the dissemination of information like this fall under the DMCA and get the EFF sued?
It may be the right thing to do, but doesn't mean the courts will agree.
Cant have that pesky 'free speech' thing going on.
But what you want personally doesnt matter, its what the apple people belive the MARKET wants..
Currently they belive the market does not.
Ummmmm that is still a server... That is my point.
No server, no authenication.. no IM..
"Scale" is a different topic for a differen day.
Why do they do a lot of things they shouldnt?
Just beacuse it is, doesnt make it right.
Dont forget they IM type services require servers to function..
AOL is brining that to the table.. Without those servers, clients will be all dressed up with nowhere to go..
I refuse to donate to the industry.. so why should i care they are raising prices?
Considering the Airplane is a PRIVATE business, they can pretty much ditctate anything they want as long as it doenst get into something racial..
Doent mean they will have much business if all passengers must fly nude and have blue hair.. but they can demand it..

Last time i checked, dvd movies from the store were 8ish.. ( dual layer )
But whos counting?
We were testing the beta offically, and it didnt ever complain about Firefox.
....
Though, the blurb about VNC is correct, and annoying.
It also took out a smtp DLL that we used on several applications.
But it was only a beta
