    If they know who sent the message and he's an embedded spy, they may be able to determine 'where' is quote easily.

    But i do agree, it doesn't 'sound' right. But then again, i wasn't spying writing 'code' back in WWII for the British.

    That is all this is, no real 'escalation' has occurred. I dont think this 'war' will ever end anyway, much like the 'war on terror', so instead of getting all worked up about today's silliness, its better to just plan for the long term.

    Myself, i have a 'host' that does the mail collection so i dont run into that problem, but i still run the actual storage of my data at home. Best of both worlds, as i have my stuff available everywhere ( including file storage ) but im not trusting anyone else to keep it safe.

    If its so low bandwidth that your ISP doesn't care, just host at home on a VM for nothing. Its exactly what i do

    Sure many complain about running 'servers' on a home account but if its for your personal use and not pushing TB's a month, i dont think any will care.

    There has to be a line in the sand for the offerings for every company, be them free or not.

    If you choose to buy from vendor A, and they cant sell enough to keep the lights on, they drop the product and you are out of luck just as if Google cant 'give away' enough.

    What does 'fair' have to do with this? 30% is the cost of doing business. Don't like their pricing structure, dont do business with Apple.

    For the language, not much, as no matter where Guido ends up python is still his baby. And even if he got hit by a bus or something the language will continue on without him.

    What does it mean to Guido? Well only he can answer that but i would imagine he was ready for a change in scenery. I dont think he is in it for the money anymore and doesn't have to work unless he wants to.

    What does it mean to Google, not much there either, they used it before he got there, and im sure will use it after hes gone.

    I've seen prices on 3d printing for metal and the prices to render a standard lower receiver would have greatly exceeded the cost of buying a conventionally manufactured one.

    Hobbies are rarely concerned about the cost efficiency factor.. Its about 'doing it yourself'.

    Technically, you cant make with intent to sell without a manufacturer license. However, you could make 'less than complete' kits with intent. Aside from a safety liability standpoint, you could sell something later that you never intended on selling.

    Also have to watch local laws and regulations for additional restrictions on manufacture and sales as that will vary from area to area. ( even tho they are unconstitutional if you ask me )

    Unless i'm under active investigation with a judges approval for a warrant, they have no business even asking for this information to be stored.

    Honest citizens should not be tracked. Period.

    The key is *suspected*, as at least here in the US we still believe in innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt. So, until he goes to court and has his day, he's still presumed innocent.

    Now, the mentally ill part, well, that will be up to the doctors to evaluate after hes captured.

    Even if you can build a better product, these days why bother? If you do create a better product you will just be sued anyway, so why not get a head of the curve and sue first?
