  4. Passwords should be phased out. on Banks to Use 2-factor Authentication by End of 2006 · · Score: -1

Passwords should be phased out. They are generally weak. Biometrics is highly over rated. Your finger print or retina scan is merely a digital signature like a username. Usernames and "keyfabs" (key fabrication - those key chain harddisks or number generators) are sufficient, for the time being, to provide adequate computer security.

This is one issue. We will have to change our computer systems. People, orgs, and companies hate change.

The best way to carry this out would be to use or dev an ietf (Internet Engineering Task Force - ietf.org) rfc (Request For Coments - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Request_for_Comments ) for a keyfab authentication design that is cheap, open, non-proprietary, and not connected to any company, government, or corporatation.

Most countries are run by war mongers and profiteers who hurt people. Isn't it possible that these countries are trying to better control the free flow of information.

And how is this arguement being framed and what are they trying to do. If THEY want to regulate speech on the internet maybe they should regulate the political speech performed everyday on FOX news. FOX is not news. FOX is propaganda. FOX is Pravda.

And maybe thats the point. Lets say FOX is looking for protection for thier obvious propaganda. If THEY can get enough people to fight this for them, then they get protection that we give to them.

Or perhaps this is the reaction of an failing whitehouse administration trying to hold on to power by any means.
