    Some of you guys mentioned that ID isn't a publisher, and doesn't want to get into the business. I agree totally.
    ID should GPL out the 3D engine for a pittance to developers, and demand royalties when it's published!
    They don't get the lump sum of 250K, but let them take a nice 10%-20% of every game published, and they'll be alright.

    Well geez, I wonder why people have started ignoring ads. Instead of lowering airtime costs, they have only raised them, and increased the total airtime of ads per hour.

    At least in Return To Castle Wolfenstein, in the latest rev, 1.3(?) they added whats called "Punkbuster" which throws cheaters off of servers which are screening for cheaters.

    How about a class-action suit against SonicBlue by their customers for Invasion of Privacy. IANAL, but even if anonymous statistics are generated it's still a privacy violation of a targeted group.
    Suppose the government would keep statistics about Latinos, and the crimes they commited, against whom, and so forth (oh they already do?). This is no different.

    They did sue the VCR companys. Universal vs. Sony (or something like that)
    Theres a tarriff we all pay when purchasing VHS cassettes, that will supposedly pay the offset in profits lost to piracy.
    Yeah, even if you are just recording your sons first birthday party, you were already assumed guilty of piracy.

    This was the first of many mp3-related lawsuits. Later Napster, ScourMX and all their P2P derivatives.

    Did this change anything? All the stats in the world show that they are actually beneficial to the artists.

    Point: Stats won't help anyone jack shit in this one.

    What makes the certain number significantly less is that the Ad-aware removal module was only added in the latest rev, so 720,000 doesn't really say as much.

    Why is it that every where else in the world you can roam from continent to continent, and still have service? Why is it you can operate a GSM in either the 900MHz or 1800MHz modes, elsewhere in the world, but in the great ol' U.S. nobody thought to make a compatible GSM system, rather opting to go along with 1900MHz only.

    Sheesh, you can use your same phone In Hong Kong, catch a flight to South Africa, then hit London and Amsterdam, stopover in Canada, but when you come to the states- NO SERVICE FOUND!!!

    Damn us stupid americans! If the rest of the world adopts 900 or 1800MHz, we decide we have to be different and go along with a 1900MHz system either SOLELY to sell more expensive Trimode handsets, or to make people fork over more cash to buy a second phone.

    Lastly, the "I should be able to speed since cops do" is a horribly indefensible argument. Even if they are law enforcement, that in no way lessens your breaking the law. They should just be punished more severely (black boxes up their asses :)
