IE can't be told to respond to a mailto: link by opening up a webmail client - so all those users are going to have to be explained to why clicking on an email link no longer allows them to email the address pointed to.
Err, last I checked, my Yahoo! Mail can do it, I downloaded the addon and it runs fine.
that I should go wait-list myself for Microsoft.com?:-P Sure they'd sue the crap out of me, but it'd be worth it for 30 days of "WINDOWS SUCKS" on Microsoft.com...
I would think that this would hurt our favorite geeky websites (oh comeon, there has to be one free server out there that uses DblClick...) more then it will help us. Err on the plus side, (and IANATroll, not that I've fed the trolls and visited), maybe gs.cx/as.cx is DblClick-fed...;)

Err, almost. It's very easy to make an automakefile, then modify it to do something disastrous like "rm -rf/*", as long as the user doesn't regenerate it. I guess this just comes down to chrooting to ~/tmp, or...
Exactly - Someone said that if you take all the fancy graphics away from a game, then the game should still be 80% as playable, and 90% as much fun. Look at Samba de Amigo - the basis is great, all the GFX EFX are great, but it doesn't overemphasize them.
7 syllables to remember for the console industry, and if you don't believe me, ask sega's hardware division: no one buys peripherals.
Indeed - the keyboard never sold well for the DC, neither the mouse, the maracas, or the BBA.;) Yet after the death of the DC, the peripherals became wildly popular..... Lesson to Sony: say the PS2's "dead", tell stores to raise the price to $800 because people will be snatching 'em up, and then start work on PS3.
Ok, I see it now *envisions his karma going down* -1, Offtopic.
Hmm, couldn't this be KDE/Cygwin on XFree86/Cygwin running Win32 (Yes Win32 not W32, thank you very much RMS) apps? Once I see them launch GNotepad+ or XMorph while also running MSMessenger, I'll believe it. Err, and if it's a tweaked WINE, then they're guilty of WINE license infringment. Someone should check what the libs are...

Hmm, it seems that Slashdot is doing a Year-End story-ing marathon.
Hmm... the title of this makes it sound like a car dealership though... "Come on down to your local OSDN site to take advantage of the Slashdot Year-End Story Posting Marathon, the least karma you've EVER gotten for your stories!!"
Ok, mod me down now.

Speaking as a 12-year-old who gets this stuff all the time for being a geek...
My advice would be to confront the IT manager. Walk right up to him and say, "I've heard you've been saying some nasty stuff to my boss." Don't tell him who told you, you may only get that person on your bad side as well. Ask him what he's said about you. "I would like to know too, what have you said?" Or if you don't feel comfortable with asking, ask "What caused you to say this about me? What is wrong?" If he indeed confirms that you are young, ask why that should matter. "OK, I am a little younger then my co-workers. Does that make a difference in my performance? Have you seen a difference?"
MAKE SURE TO REMAIN CALM. I can't stress that enough, don't raise your voice. Make sure to remain calm. If you don't, he will see you as a little immature arrogant brat, and treat you like such.
A book I can recommend is "Dealing with Difficult People." I forget who it's by, however some of the sections could be of great value to you.
Well, kind of. The PS2 internally displays at 640x240, then stretches it up to 640x480. If you've played the ESPN Snowboarding game (I forget what it's called) on the LCD in the demo at your local video game reseller, you will know that there are awful jaggies. That is because of the stretching method - it is not antialiased. For comparision, the Dreamcast can render at any of three resolutions: 320x240, 640x480 (native!), and over VGA, 800x608 (yes, 608, not 600.) Speaking as a Dreamcast owner, and homebrew developer, that's how the Dreamcast works. For my source of data on the PS2, go here. (Even if you don't want to verify my data, it's a good read anyway.) The page does indeed seem a touch biased, however the data seems accurate. I await your replies.
..? If your only wish is Curses, they have that, except better - you must be using a really old distro. Go to RPMFind and go search for ncurses. Err... and if your dist is that old, you also may want a good toolchain - GCC3.0.2 works nicely for me.
Err, but they already did. (IIRC) I could've sworn that awhile ago they released a little Audrey-like terminal that ran Linux and AOL.
But on a lighter note, they would most likely leave a gaping security hole open, have someone root the box, then go publish instructions for how to root your AOLinux box. Heh. Errr.... TINAFlamebait (This Is Not A Flamebait).
