    And that's still 150MHz faster than my 200. Unless I overclock it to 300, whereupon it crashes frequenly. Maybe I should get a new fan. The current one hasn't worked at all since I cut the wires on it to stop the ball bearings being so loud. There was a spark and the whole computer lost its power. Luckily it worked again afterwards. That was nearly as stupid as when I switched the switch on the back from "240" to "110", knackering the fuse when I switched it on. Ah well. Maybe if I can find some employment I might be able to by a new one.

    Why not? There are things on the radio and the telly that you could never experience without them. Unless of course you can't afford one. I coudl sympathise with that. Over a hundred quid a year, even if you don't watch the BBC. What a fucking rip off. They should just go commercial like all the others. It's not like the quality of programming is any better.

    No it is NOT clearly impinging on their trademark. Do Adobe have a trademark on the COMMON WORD "Illustrator"? Do they bollocks.

    You say authors should think or original names. "Illustrator" doesn't sound very original. In fact, it's a COMMON WORD. If they don't want competitors using names that are similar to your own, then they can come up with their own words, instead of just using COMMON WORDS.

    Exactly. B would be even more organised, and thus even EASIER to compress, so you should get an even HIGHER compression rate on B. Unless of course this magical 100:1 ratio only works on 'random' data containing many patterns etc.

    And who's going to fund all the sites? Advertising is probably the only way most sites can afford to run. You'll end up with an Internet consisting of around 6 sites. And as people will lose interest in the Internet, ISPs will close down, and there'll be no way onto the Internet apart fro at libraries/colleges etc. Then the only people able to get on the Internet will be nerds and students. Hardly an Internet I'd like to see.

    Excellent? The only "excellent" browser there is is Opera. IE doesn't even have tabbed sub-windows, let alone a preferences box that makes it quick and easy to enable/disable java/javascript/images etc. And it doesn't even give you a nice sub-window to see all your downloads in. You get a stupid pop-up box for each and every download, and when a download is stopped, you're fucked. IE really is one of the worst browsers I've ever used.

    In the browsing world, you get what you pay for, and you pay for Opera.
