    Another solution I've found very powerful in terms of a backup solution is Dirvish. It uses Rsync for transportation, and hardlinks all of the same files together, for a more effective use of disk space.

    It might also be a good alternative to CVS as you can just diff between full directory trees to determine the changed files. (or read the logs).

    You mean the interweb isn't just that 'e' on my desktop? Most people only know the internet by it's little blue icon on their desktop's. It's bizarre for us to see it that way, but it's true, that's how the general population looks at the web. The problem with the internet now it to educate people on what the internet really is.

    been there, done that.. It worked great in grade 11 and 12 in SOME courses: English and History were easy, Chem i had a great teacher who's teaching style didn't include too many obscure molecular structures, but when it came to Math, Calculus, or even worse Physics, I ALWAYS went back to the pen and paper method, it just works better for the speed they write things down on the boards.

    However with some of the new tablet PC's, if they get battery life over ~12 hours of use I'd consider going back to the computer. but now as a Second year Comp Eng student, it's much faster with a pen and paper. They just talk soooo fast.

    as a hint, try adjusting the phase output from the AP or server card. the transmiter and reciever antenni should (i believe) be pointed in the same orientation.

    Laptop pcmcia cards are usually Horiz transmiters, and Apples/embeded cards tend to be vertical. I usually put one going straight up and one going directly horizontal and it seems to work better

    It's too bad that it's a centeral server model, it seems to be only for those at TG03.

    Rapid responce? SARS was around and being documented in china since ~ December. By Febuary there were already health warnings going out to doctors in BC. The Toronto outbreaks were entirely preventable.. ohwell.

    but if sifting through finds more bugs... Go for it. Better code checking (because of space conserns) might actually get us BACK to manageable useable sizes for programs.

    Just use a stone tablet printer. Ya media's big, expensive and heavy, but heavy would be the only thing new about the system. And if stored properly, it might last 1000 years or more.

    Just wait till they make Pacemakers that work with an integrated TCP/IP stack. Someone could die from a DOS attack. (Having one my self I don't relish the idea of embedded computers regulating critical functions of the human body) .. OT yes I know.

    Now, If only they would give the option of removing the add-on ware from the installer so we wouldn't have to resort to "illegal" means of removing it ourselves. (Kazza-Lite).

    But I think i'll just stick to my old wireless set for the moment until the poor old vacume tube burns out.

    At least in our great state north of the 49th parallel we don't really have to listen to our music with the fear of the FBI coming in and arresting us for listening to music we downloaded to evaluate. Our wonderful government just takes our money from buying blank media instead.

    but it would be nice if we could get some kind of representation in the senate or congress so we could voice out conserns.

    What ever did happen to representation in government?

    At least it's a mac. If Microsoft were to try using the case to show problems we'd all get bright blue cases... no more BSOD's more like BCOD instead. colour changing cases would be cool. server status at a glance?

    It's too bad we never had a Publishing of Source clause in all those Printed licencing agreements we all agreed to by opening up the boxes to see the licence..

    But sadly microsoft still insists on being lazy and re-using their broken code to create new more broken applications. Then when they break, they just make a glorified bugcatcher to prevent them from looking like the asses that they are for not actually getting real people to test their programs.
