    Android is as 'securable' as IOS is.

    What's your next guess?

    nobody makes an android device with a 'secure enclave' like the iPhone has.

    That's a big part of Android's problem, but a bigger issue is the fact that most Android devices don't get OS updates.

    The main reason for using swift is that apple wants their developers to be locked in, on a language level.

    The reason for Swift is that Apple is highly aware of where they spend their engineering time, and Swift makes the most common Obj-C mistakes difficult or impossible to write at all. It's not some kind of Machiavellian plot.

    Apple does plenty of hardware R&D. Don't assume otherwise just because they farm out the manufacturing.
