As I recall, when I was in high school the kids in the "national honor society" were a pack of left-wing ass kissers who made a habit of cheating on their tests and homework. It used to bug the shit out of me when the teachers and overseers would tell me that I should be docile and obedient like they were.
Unfortunately, judges who will enforce the constitution are few and far between. Every sitting member of the supreme court has already failed to do so on multiple occasions.
No, its just the realisation that if Java was a terrible language it would have died a long time ago.
Your optimism is astonishing.
you don't have a clue about the real world.
I spent most of the 90's working on Wall Street, and in Chicago at the Board of Trade. JP Morgan, Salomon Brothers, Phibro Energy, and UBS/Warburg. Since leaving the financial industry, I've been working in the Silicon Valley, much of that time being spent at what is now the most profitable technology company in existence.
But, if as you say I don't have a clue about the real world, I suppose I'll have to bow to your superior intellect and settle for Java as you have. How depressing.

He told Congress that fast and furious was a continuation of a Bush administration policy ..as if that excuses anything.
-jcr
this is the only power that the federal government is empowered to have.
No, there are 17 enumerated powers in the constitution.
-jcr
Or you could just quit pussyfooting around and admit it.
-jcr
Hear, Hear!
Unfortunately, judges who will enforce the constitution are few and far between. Every sitting member of the supreme court has already failed to do so on multiple occasions.

Or anything else in COBOL.
-jcr
If you believe that, then by all means settle for something less.

Have you considered switching to decaf?
-jcr
Its no better or worse than any other languages out there.
That's the voice of inexperience, right there...
get out of your mom's basement
Gosh, what a clever quip. You must be positively venerable to be able to toss off a withering cutdown like that.

Java is a real language, and a lot of real programs have been written with it. It's not a good language, but that doesn't make it trivial.

Someone needs to remind these assholes that economic sanctions are an act of war.

Why do you HATE the USPS so much?
Why do you support a monopoly? Do you like higher prices and degraded service?
-jcr
Fedex and UPS compete for my business. Why do you deny it?
-jcr
attempting to destroy the USPS is unconstitutional is my point.
Nope. The constitution permits the federal government "To establish Post Offices and post Roads;", but does not require it to do so.
-jcr
The constitution also supported slavery. What's your point?
-jcr
I'm not advocating turning over the bureaucracy to private buyers. I'm talking about replacing it completely with competing carriers.
-jcr
Lysander Spooner already demonstrated that private mail carriers can do a better job for less money, back in the mid 1800s. It's even more true today.
-jcr
He did a lot of great work at Apple, and I hope he enjoys his new role.
-jcr
he should be stuck in a US prison,
For what?
He informed us of billions of counts of illegal wiretapping. Whistleblowing isn't a crime.
-jcr
Indepenent of Manning's guilt/innocence, his treatement before his trial was shameful.
Not just shameful, it was criminal. Cruel and unusual punishments are prohibited by the constitution.
-jcr
A real hero would gladly go to jail to prove his point.
Bullshit. He's up against a government that refuses to admit any legal limitations to what it can do, and you say he should just submit? Fuck that.
-jcr
What did he do, steal your girlfriend?

I get plenty of junk mail every week. Serves all the same purposes as newspapers for me..

I wouldn't call Newton a success. It was a nice try, but it never made back its development costs.
