I thought it moved when they moved the SS full retirement age, but I could be wrong. Either way it's a long way off for me and I'm probably not retiring till 72-75 anyways since my life expectancy based on my grandparents is 90-95.
If you get no dividends it's because you chose (or it was chosen for you by your 401k board) to invest in a low/no yield mutual fund. All 3 of my funds provide some dividend despite being growth oriented (I'm 35 so lower yield/higher risk funds make sense), right now the dividend is plowed right back into additional shares of the funds because taking a disbursement before you reach 62.5 has negative tax consequences, but it's still there in my annual statement and still grows my 401ks total value. I also know the top 20 stocks in each mutual fund (though these are typically only 30-50% of the funds total value).
Yup, our Linux based application firewall uses a security maintained 0.9.8 based build so we weren't affected by heartbleed. It looks like we'll need to make sure it's patched to 0.9.8za level to avoid the possibility of this being an issue.
The only significant difference between LTE and LTE-Advanced is bandwidth, all the layer 2-7 pieces are essentially the same. Perhaps some day there will be an LTE-Advanced network that actually takes advantage of the proposed microcell technology to enable actual use of that higher bandwidth, but due to cost concerns I'm not holding my breath. In other words even an LTE-Advanced based network probably won't meet the stated goals of ITU-T for 4G so back in the real world we have more advanced networks that actually advance the state of the art and make real changes to the ways the network is used (ie voice can now traverse the same carrier as data) but without any meaningful label if you follow the strict ITU-T 4G definition.
The Galaxy S5 is waterproof to IPS65 standards, in the real world the USB charging cover is a weak point for maintaining waterproof status which is why I'm going with the Qi charging cover so I never have to open the relatively flimsy charging cover.
This line is such crap, the original bar for 4G was set so high that even the first round of LTE-Advanced wouldn't have qualified in many instances due to a lack of sufficient spectrum. In the real world LTE offers a low latency all IP transport which is sufficiently different from 3G technology to warrant a new label and the logical label was 4G.
Quick Sync sucks ass, the quality is horrible. If they modified the algorithm to look good it wouldn't be any faster than the best software encoders using the same hardware resources and you can make the software encoders as fast by turning off the features that improve IQ.
Lol, you do realize an i5-5370 is roughly twice as fast at video encoding compared to your old Q9450, right? Just because they haven't double the number of cores doesn't mean they haven't improved performance significantly in the consumer space.
Nah, sideloading of Metro UI apps is officially supported but it does require pro or enterprise OS level (AFAIR) and the app to be signed with a code signing certificate. MS knows their large customers are going to sign their own volume licensing agreements with 3rd parties as well as wanting to load their own apps that aren't appropriate for public distribution through the app store.
It was to push Modern UI (nee Metro) onto every platform to try to bootstrap app development for their floundering mobile offerings and to try to capture the application revenue that Apple and Google were achieving through their walled garden app stores.
Funny enough my boss was testing an Iridium satphone just today. One of our senior execs is going rafting in the grand canyon and wants to be able to get SMS and possibly make a call while out there and our CEO is thinking about going on a safari and would want the same capabilities.
Way back in the early to mid 90's Channel One had a type of datacasting service where they would push certain web pages to a caching box, it later was expanded to a pre-DOCSIS dialup + cable modem type setup that allowed two way communications.
Yeah, I've also heard that NGO's attempting to get supplies into the most backwater bush locations will often contract with the local Coke distributor because they reach like 99.95% of the worlds population.

Not really, according to this chart the raw wafers only cost $125.

Why is the wafer size SO much smaller than in Silicon/SOI manufacturing? 200mm wafers for chips was early 90's tech and the standard has been 300mm for over a decade with 450mm slated to be coming online about now if it hadn't been for the great recession and the shift towards mobile (ie Intel Fab 42 which is now in mothballs).
That's basically how our company does it, though it's a 5 year vesting period on options, not 20 (which frankly would be considered a bit extreme since the average tenure for a Fortune 500 CEO is 4.6 years and 8.1 for all publicly traded companies).
And I had 4 Taurus/Sables that I bought used and drove to over 225k miles each, so long as you got the Duratec 3.0 those cars were bulletproof. The only reason I went away from them is that I wanted AWD and better gas mileage.
I find SQLite Database Browser is easier to use for something quick and dirty like that since it requires just a download of the exe instead of an installation and configuration plus installing another program to do the actual data manipulation.
It seems unlikely this was actually the first bird to pollinate a flower. Since the pollen was already too large to carry on the wind that would imply that the plant had already adapted away from self pollination and towards external pollinators, a process unlikely to happen suddenly.
American ruling class, the Clintons?!? Hillary came from a background where her dad was a small business owner whose parents were both the children of immigrant coal miners and Bill was the son of a salesman and stepson to an auto dealer. They both attended public high schools. These are people who succeeded through brains and hard work, not through birthright and who their parents knew.

Yup, same on Sprint, though many of their devices use virtual SIM embedded in one of the chips =(

Actually Google owns exclusive online rights to the images produced by GeoEye-1 which is managed by DigitalGlobe so it's kindof both.

The newest EliteBooks look exactly like a Macbook Pro and have the same shitty chiclet keyboards.

Then you start looking at bus speeds... 4k 120hz is a LOT of data.
Not really, 4k 4:4:2 @ 120Hz is only ~16Gbps which requires only 2 PCIe 3.0 lanes (8GT/s per lane).
I find SQLite Database Browser is easier to use for something quick and dirty like that since it requires just a download of the exe instead of an installation and configuration plus installing another program to do the actual data manipulation.
I think that's for the note takers, either for book clubs or for electronic textbooks.
