    I'm thinking his point may have been the lack of redundance in you 2TB partition. Hopefully all that data is backed up somewhere, although restoring it from tape might take a while if one of the drives ever fails.

    Amazon don't sell electrical goods outside the US. Everything else as far as I know is avaliable... I recently tried to buy a Neuros from Amazon to get shipped to NZ and it was a non starter

    They may be short systems but the total depth of the rack is quite a bit bigger from memory.

    The number at Weta was about the same but streched to 12 hours for some frames. This was on the 2.2GHz Xeons so the 2.8's will obviously be faster per frame

    I suspect what he was thinking was that the "R" in RAID is for Redundant.. and a stripe has no redundance, so technically speaking it is not RAID

    Although you didn't mention and timeframe (other than "years"). I'm sure I can beat that. The keyboard I'm typing on now was the very first keyboard I owned. It came with my 386DX/40 almost exactly 10 years ago. I've had 2 other keyboards since then, neither lasted more than a year so I just get out the old 386 keyboard and all is good. I've been meaning to get a new keyboard for a while but it just doesn't seem worth it.

    No as it will ONLY boot linux. You have to turn it off with a switch for it to boot games!

    Well you install a switch on the side so you can switch between BIOS chips. So whenever you want to use xbox live just flick the switch and run on the original BIOS

    Not quite. Almost no Chipsets use the PCI but to communicate between North and South Bridge anymore. They have all developed their own link tech as PCI was too slow.

    Thats about the best decription of my belief system I've ever read. My traditional answer to "Do you believe in god" is "Who the hell cares, you'll find out when you're dead one way or the other". Why not just live for this life and work out the rest later?
