While upgrading some client software to implement one way hashed/salted passwords I came across this password while I was showing why the users of the system were vulnerable to simple brute force attacks.

This one was by far the strongest in the data, the weakest was "god" (there were actually no "password" passwords)
Blasphemy! That is not part of the American dream. And how dare you even suggest such a thing when he can just go out and get a couple more credit cards.
Pretty much sums up the reason for them wanting to do this:
One obstacle has been our software of choice, Reason 6. Not only is it prohibitively expensive, but it is difficult to order, impossible to share between computers, and is anchored by obnoxious security provisions.
In layman's terms they don't like the idea of not being able to use if for free. Pretty much defines the majority attitude in the hip hop industry really.
"We want people to use whatever's easier for them."
Actually in this day and age that is pretty much true, these days people don't care about settings and options all they care about is if it works. If anything Facebook has done a service, by making these kinds of changes and then power users raising a big stink about it forces clueless users to actually go in and look at the settings to confirm what they have been oblivious about since they first opened an account.
I briefly scanned over the list and the only one that I saw that made sense was.store, which when you use it seems natural www.amazon.store. Something like www.hotmail.mail or www.google.google seems pretty poinless to me when all they will do is just redirect to the dotCOM version anyway.

Or maybe it had more to do with MS actually inviting the core Samba team to Redmond so they could work on better integration points to AD; they did this around the time Win2k8 was released. They have done this numerous times.
Actually they could have him charged with the destruction of private and intellectual property if he does what he is saying. Best solution so far would be to use a LiveCD and buy a 16+GB USB key to store the settings and such on it.
Or like others have mentioned just buy a tablet if it's just for entertainment purposes anyway.
They need to get as many bug fixes / new features in as they can while Google is still funding them. Once it has stopped Firefox will become the Netscape 4.7 of web browsers. That is unless Microsoft steps in and picks up the funding.
Most of the time you don't end up using the framework it ends up using you. Over time the quirks of a framework ends up biting you in the ass (usually in a huge way). This is why there are always new frameworks being worked on and there is no one framework that stands alone over all the rest. Lately I have been putting more stock in libraries than frameworks.
The one thing that the media and this model does not take into account is the underground infrastructure factor which could extend the flooding (underground) up to 2 miles further from the edge of the on land storm surge (the model only shows above ground).
Sounds like Google has the "if I don't get caught have I done anything wrong" attitude and now are getting called out on it, makes me wonder just how many other instances of "see no evil, do no evil" the public and competitors don't know about.
Considering that Google didn't just wake up and said "I think that I will buy Motorola today", this article now makes perfect sense. I suspect that Google will be even more closed about Android since they are now an OEM.
Without Firefox think of all extra advertising dollars they would make without NoScript/Adblock or other ad blocking plugins that Firefox offers. The bottom line is that Google is using Firefox as a way to keep the "do no evil" drones in line.
Mod me down but it's the exact thing Microsoft and Apple do only to a different target audience.
CouchDB, SQLite and Microsoft are shepherding the project and are inviting other parties to participate. "We're not trying to drive some sort of heavyweight process," Phillips said. Future versions of both CouchDB and SQLite will support UnQL queries, their creators promise.
Somehow I feel that MS will be either buying up of these NoSQL companies or is developing their own in the near future. Why else would MS get involved...
Would be interesting to see how they can use the content after downloading and what kind of rights on the content you are giving up. At the very least you have given Google the "right" to do analysis on all traffic to your site and the content of your site; whatever that entails.

Actually this might be good timing, if the rover crashes nobody will ever know due to the Olympic coverage.
Live below your means.

The irony of this coming from a closed-minded piece of shit like you is astounding.

Just a heads up this is the real issue behind the default http://www.cnn.com/2011/US/09/06/postal.default/index.html?hpt=us_c2. It has to do with the retiree health care trust fund payment (5.5b) being due on Sept 30th.
