Do we hate icann on fridays? I always thought we we supposed to hate icann, but this story leaves me with such mixed emotions. Can I hate verisign and icann today? Some one tell me how to feel please.:-)
Just for giggles when a hdd in one of laptops crapped out, I went to HP's website to find out what they had to offer, i found this $1073.00 10 gig laptop hard drive. I just about fell off my chair laughing so hard. I think we bought an equivelant hdd through compgeeks for

I tried the various examples in the previous comments, and my connection always times out never gets redirected like the exa,ple link in the story. Tried it in opera and IE. Is this just something verisign is planning on implemeting or is it supposed to be in place already?
I tried this before with a 4 port kvm and 2 port kvm with horrible results...
Although it looks like some of the higher end kvm's can be daisy chained through a special connector i don't think even the highest end ones will work as suggested in parent.
Is it just me or does something seem wrong with a linux site running IIS? here is the error i got Error Executing Database Query.

Looks like access lasted longer than some sites with mysql db's there were 80 comments before i got this error. I have seen mysql go down stop accepting requests in under 50 comments.
God I hate it non compliant websites, it wouldn't let me subscribe using opera, had to fire up IE. That just about cost them my subscription. You would think a mag devoted to perl would be able to handle browsers other than IE since perl is mainly used *nix systems you would think a great majority of users would be using konqueror, galeon, mozilla, hell even lynx. But alas i don't want to see it die so I still subscribed.
Did anyone use a non IE browser and it have it work for them?
How can you say that redhat aims for low prices? 79.95$ for personal and 200$ for professional, I may be biased towards suse but they are.5 the price for personal, and about.2 for professional. But maybe that extra cost is incurred by hacking at kde to make it look like the inferior gnome
My $.02
which btw will buy me 2.5 times more of the newest suse. Ya know if everyone wants this linux thing to stick around quit leeching their ftp bandwidth and just buy the bloody distro preferably directly from the respective distro's web site, so they get all of the profit instead of best buy/other stores here taking 3/4 of the profit.
This might be a somewhat regional drink, since when i was out in PA last year i had to teach the bartender how to make one, and the guy next to me at the bar thought i was from kansas since i ordered one (kansas is sorta close to fargo i guess). but anyway to make a bulldog take a glass full of ice put a shot of vodka (or rum for a rumdog), a shot of kahlua, a shot of cream or half/half, and top the glass off with coke. Tastes like chocolate milk. mmmm
we just put together a system here at work with a dual athlon xp tyan board and a 64bit adaptec raid card rinning raid 5 + 1 hot spare, and have not had any trouble what soever suse 7.3 detected it all on its own no driver disk needed. I am not sure of the exact model number (and iam not going to go pull the cover off one of our main production servers) tho dmesg gives this Loading Adaptec I2O RAID: Version 2.4 Build 5. I dunno why this poster has had such trouble maybe he should upgrade his distro to suse:-)
Unigraphics Solutions the maker of solid edge puts out service packs monthly. Solid Edge V10 in the 1st five months out there were 5 servvice packs all 50-80 megs. If there are that many bloody fixes i am surprised the software wven ran out of the box.
We had this problem too at work, our solution run CRT in wine. It was a pain to configure but works really well now after some trouble shooting. Found one other package that claims to do what you want out of the box but couldn't even get the software to run for me, it was from Pericom-Software.com. Crappy install and just all around seems like pretty poor software but your mileage may vary.
cal 2003 | netcat -s your.ip.address.here -p 515
:-)
If it prints a calendar you are in business
Seriously everything you need to print is text right?
To print out a file just replace "cal 2003" with "cat your.file" what could be simpler?

I had this problem too. My solution format C: install win2k again :-) xp isn't quite ready for mainstream yet my burner refused to work under xp also.
